my brothers daughter is 2 and she continues to take her diaper off at bed time and she will pee and poop on the floor and he dosent know what to do. he has put overalls on her without the buttons at the bottom, but she takes them off,, he has tried taping the diaper but she pulls it down like a pull up and he dosent know what to do becasue he cant keep washing her floor , So how can he get her to keep her diaper on? Please he is desperate for help any answers will be helpfull.

Take the feet off of some one-piece pajamas with a zipper and put them on backwards. She won't be able to unzip the pjs to get the diaper off.

All the people who said that it is time to potty train her are absolutely correct! This is a sign that she is tired of diapers and ready for big girl panties. Potty training takes a lot of work, consistency, and patience and a lot of busy parents don't want to deal with it when a child is first shows signs of readiness. Often, day-cares also do not want to deal with doing the potty training. The problem with this is that the child eventually gives in and keeps using the diapers and you end up with a an older 3 year old child or even a 4 year old still in diapers who is no longer in a hurry to get out of them! I have seen this happen over and over again. It is better to take the time now and deal with the accidents than to have to change those gross bigger kid dirty diapers!

If she's taking the initiative to get outta bed and take the diaper off. It's because she don't like to be in a peed diaper. It's time your brother did his part and helped her to the potty, she may want to but just may be scared. Also helps to leave all the lights on and make pee time right before bed at night.
It will pass, and one day you'll all laugh.

OK, so trying to deter her from doing it is not working, she needs a consequence to make her understand that she can't do that. I don't know if your brother is a spanking parent, but that is what I would do to my son if he did that. A good pop on the behind, no diaper to cushion the spank, might get the message across. Then I would make my son help clean up the mess. There are some things about parenting and the whole child/ adult relationship that are not negotiable, seat belts, bedtimes, running with scissors, and peeing and pooping on the floor! There are only two options here, in the diaper or in the toilet, your brother needs to be more firm.

My twin were doing this! I would come in the room and poopy diapers on the floor an they peed the bed. Here is the simple solution.
Put masking tape around the waist of the diaper and then dress them in a zip up sleeper. not with snaps at the crotch, only the zipper and then you pin the zipper to the sleeper so you cannot unzip it and you can even put it on backward if you get the kind with out the feet.
save all the water and laundry and headache!!

Two words: Potty chair. She is showing that she is interested in NOT wearing a diaper anymore! It doesn't happen in a lot of kids, but some begin to potty train themselves. My son was like this and he was less that 2 when it happened, and believe me, it didn't hurt my feelings one bit to get it over with! So go with the flow and get on with the potty training!

Oh my.. My lil one does the same thing.
I have to keep pants or shorts on her or else that diapers coming off. But my mother has told me its time to potty train em when there starting that up.
