I have a 4.5 month old, 3.5 lb Yorkie female. I am having serious problems with training. I know she is young, and I don't expect to see alot of results yet, but there are a few things that concern me.

1. Cleopatra (my baby) will not use the puppy training pads. I have had them out for weeks, but she does not ever go to them. She won't go anywhere near them. What can be done?

2. She frequently pees in her kennel. I put her in when i go to work, and I come home to let her out during lunch, but she constantly pees in the kennel. I understand that her bladder control isn't very good right now, but as it gets better, will she hold it, or will she think its ok to do?

3. I can bring her out for 10-15 minutes, and she'll pee outside, but will never do #2. As soon as we come in, she goes on the carpet. She has never pooed outside.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Any time she pees take them to the pad set her down make sure she stays for a second tell her she will eventually understand as she gets used to it scoot the pad towards the door till you even have to put it outside she will go to the door and want on the pad if you reward her even if she pees and you take her to the pad reward and praise her. dogs love and understand high pitched voices. after it is out side you can stop using them

dont allow her drink while in the kennel, don't feed her before going in the kennel, when she pee's in the house use the puppy pad to soak it up and then confine her in the bathroom with it when you are gone. Dogs will use the same area to deficate over and over. Do the same with her #2. Take it out to the yard and put it in the area she most uses to go the bathroom.Make sure and take her to the same location every time you take her out. MAke sure the kennel your using isn't to big. Dogs don't normally use the bathroom where they sleep. You have to have set time's for her to eat so that you know when to expect her to need to go out. Ask your vet about the amount she'll need a day. Usually they only need fed twice a day.

i have had this problem before. i feel that yorkies are harder to potty train. i silly suggestion would be to take the "droppings" and put them on the puppy pad. i would socialize your dog with the puppy pads a bit more. maybe take a longer break. and maybe in her kennel try putting a puppy pad in or under it.

When you're in the house with her, clip her leash onto your belt. You're much more likely to notice when she starts to pee so you can pick her up and rush her to the wee pad. When she finishes, give her lots of praise.

Do you take her out to pee and pooh everytime she eats or drinks? If not you should start doing that. Plus everytime she plays take her out. When I got my Pug, I had to take her out at least every 15 min or so. Just be patient and take her out as often as you can.

for the #2 problem, take her for a walk about your neighbor hood, it works with my male pomeranian.
