My friend has always been EXTREMELY religous growing up. He wanted to be a preacher and travel around to show people christianity. We he went to college to study about religon and came back a completely different person. He said he learned the history and science behind christianity and became a complete atheist. He said he learned christianity was the biggest conspiracy the world has ever seen. He is also upset with his parents and he blames them for brainwashing him. He buried himself in christian studies fo 4 years and was blown away from what he learned. Very strange isnt it?

I think that's a shame.
I think he has not truly given himself completely to God.
especially since he blames his parents.
He needs to really seek and give himself to the Lord completly.
On his own.
and that my not happen untill God puts him in a place in his life where he wont have a choice but to beleave and trust God.

This is very common. He learned the truth.

I did too. It was an awakening experience.

Almost like once you realize there is no santa claus / easter bunny / tooth fairy. You cannot go back... ever.

Christianity is just another in a long line of savior cults from that era (90 AD)... none of the writers of the gospels EVER MET JESUS, and even Paul never met Jesus, so it's logical for anyone smart to reject it.

God is also a fallacy. Matter & energy needs no maker.. it's not perfect.. mankind needs no designer, as man is also not perfect... but if a perfect thing did exist, it would have to be designed (god) therefore something greater would have to design it... This is just 1 simple proof that there is no god, and can be no god. But there are many more. Take your pick.

Congradulate your friend. He found the answer!

When you become a christian it is not mere book knowledge. It is a relationship with the Living God. You can not think that a college degree in theology will give you a relationship. In the natural, physical realm of things when you develop a relationship it is a result of time spent with the person, object or thing. In the spiritiual realm, where God is, He tells us to draw nigh to Him and He will draw nigh to us. Our heavenly Father is a jealous God who will have no other gods before Him. He is worthy of all of the praise for He is the creator of all things. Nothing exists without Him. He has all power. For God so loved the world...meaning He loved us prior to us loving Him, yet He wants our love and this love must be demonstrated, just as you would demonstrate your love for someone else. God sent His son, Jesus, an example of agape love, so that we may through Jesus Christ draw close to God and experience a loving, caring, providing relationship with God. When Jesus left the earth to go to heaven, He said He would send the comforter, who would teach us all things. Once you receive the comforter, The Holy Ghost, every doubt and fear will be gone. How do you receive the comforter? Seek ye the Lord with all your heart, your mind and He will be found. God is not a respecter of persons, for what he has done for one, He will do for others who believe in Him and His son, Jesus Christ. So, to further answer the question, very strange isn't it? No, the Holy Ghost is the teacher and did your friend receive The baptism of the Holy Ghost even though he was extremely "religious"? The church is run like a business, but, a relationship with God is developed between the believer and his acceptance of Jesus Christ as his personal savior. In this world you will have tribulations, but be of good cheer, Jesus Christ has overcome the world.

Yeah, life's like that. It seems most of us grow up to be the people we didn't ever think we would. But that's an amazing example. What a change.

Your question appears to be "Very strange isn't it?"

No, that is quite normal. Many people are strongly affected when they realize they've been fed a line of bull for years.

The only thing that's strange here is that he didn't go on to preach anyways.

Very strange. I pray that God will drive out satan and bring this young man to Christ. He apparently had never been born again, or nothing could have deceived him in this way.

He was brainwashed by the liberal, Socialist, anti-God/ anti-American scumbags at the university, most likely.

He fell into sin somewhere along the journey, and God and sin don't get along very well. He had to give up one of them.
