Each individual has to make the decision as to which religion is best for them. It's totally wrong to push a person to be a certain religion. I personally think you dont need any particular "religion". If you live right and are a generally good person, if there is a heaven i think you will get a front row seat.

They know that for them it is the right one, but you have to make your own choices, and you need to tell them so. I am an elderly man and have known lots of people over the years that practiced a certain belief simply because their family did, and that is not the way to choose something as important as a religion, something that you will live with for the rest of your life. Good luck, and I hope that whatever choice you make will be the right one for you.

The only way to know which religion is right is to test it through faith, meaning a combination of belief and action. The right religion will never falter you. Your family's faith and theirs before them is a testament to the faith people have invested and continued to invest in Christianity. You have to ask why so many generations would do so if there faith had not been well placed.

Everyone has their own belief. You go ask a Hindu "What is the right Religion" and he'll say "Hinduism". Ask the same to a Muslim and he'll say Muslim. Same as your family, their Christian so therefore of course they'll say Christianity is the right Religion. The don't KNOW it's the right one, they THINK it's the right one.

Christianity is the right religion. it is the only right religion. A man named jesus long ago died on a cross for all of the world's sin. he paid the price for what our world does, whether it is drug addiction, murder or even just talking back to your parents. Jesus loves you and will always forgive you. no matter what you do, jesus will love you. if you have a Bible, i would check it out. John is a great chapter. It is the first book in the New Testament. It tells all about jesus's life. If i were you, I would just take my parent's word and run with this.

First, let me say I'm not Christian but I understand its aim.

Christianity is ideally suited to a person who wants a constant relationship with God.
I've never considered this for myself, but I do recognize a certain "light" in its followers -- my sister converted.

But Christianity is just one side of a spiritual spectrum. Sufism (pure prayer) is this side's extreme.

On the other side of this spectrum are Buddhism, Zen, & Taoism.
These practices tell you nothing about how things are, they demand you see for yourself, and are methods for this purpose.

For the latter paths, you empty yourself to be filled with the entire universe / God.

So it's a matter of personal nature.

Religion is based solely on faith, and if you don't believe what's being forced upon you than it is not right for you. I went through a similar experience growing up, and I chose to pick the agnostic belief--that I don't know what higher powers, if any, I believe in.

Your parents may have found a religion that is good for THEM, but it doesn't necessarily mean it's the right one for you! Most people who are deeply religious almost always think their belief system is the best, but that is (as everything in our lives is) a personal decision. Think for yourself, and go with what your heart tells you is right.

As I tell my own children- you should always follow your own road, no matter where it leads.

Why don't you try it for yourself and see.

Ask Jesus into your heart and then sit back and watch His power. But you have to seek Him(Jesus) with all your heart.

Jer 29:11-13 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. 12 Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. 13 And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.
