I just got some from the fruit-stand and can't find very many recipes to use them in. Mostly I just eat them like apples but I'm curious what else they can be used for.

You can made them in breads and pies. You can make Persimmon butter too. I don't care for them,But my Dad loved them. He would eat them right from the tree( this I was told was a no-no). But he loved them.

I have no friggin idea!
I bought one the other day. When I go to Ralph's (my local market) I like to get a fruit or vegetable I have never eaten before.
I put the persimmon in my briefcase (a flimsy do made by Nike) and Psycho the Cat got in it last night.
I found the fruit, partially eaten when I went to the bathroom after Spin this morning.
If it helps, he ate it like an apple, but only from the top.

Oh man now you've got me thinking about persimmons! I eat them plain, both the firm pumpkin-shaped style and the pepper-shaped sofy style. My mom pickles the firm ones in a salty brine and they're really good!

I can't be of much help either.. I just grab them off the tree and eat those juicy jewels like apples too. :o)

I dont eat them, my SIL grows them and i pick them for my mother...She eats them like apples...
