i've been trying to dye my hair brown. but my hair turned reddish/ black. i don't wanna go to the salon because it cost alot if money just to dye it...i think i really look pretty in brown hair beacause it highlights my hair. black hair makes me look really plain. =(

First you would have to bleach your whole head to the lightest color you can get it. Then put the Brown color you would want on it. It's probably not going to stay the brown because it will fade so you would have to put that brown color on every 4-6 weeks. It is actually hard to color black hair to any lighter color, but can be done.

A light brown should do it. If you want it a lighter brown, die it honey blonde and rinse it out when it get's the shade you want. Good luck. There is also a color booster you can purchase that would boost the brown die up quite a bit.

L'Oreal Feria makes ultra lightening dyes to lighten black hair to brown. I have been using them since they first came out & I love them.

go to a beauty store like sally's and they have special colors for ppl with dark color hair to lighten it, and its made by lorel its what beyonce uses to lighten her hair and i also use it, because im asian and have dark black hair

you just go to a store and buy whatever colour you think is the best, if you want it brown, then you should get a darker colour
