My wifes got an AKC Maltese and my buddies wife has an AKC Poodle. We heard that thos Maltipoo mixes bring alot of money. They got em in the paper all the time. So we decided that we are going to breed our wives dogs and have a litter of these dogs. We haven't ever done this before, except breeding wolf hybrids. How much should we sell these dogs for?

Heck I'm not worried about ethics man. I'm more interested the money. People are buying these dogs right and left. I might as well join the crowd and make some money. Its called supply and demand.

Hey, I can give these dogs their shots myself. I do it for my hybrids all the time. It ain't hard people. Only people who don't know what their doing take their dogs to a vet for normal shots.
Hey man, that's a great idea. I bred one of my hybrids with a ACA Siberian Husky about 3 years ago and they had the best pups. I check in with the new owners all the time and they are still real healthy and doin great.
I was thinking about $800.00 a pup for these Maltipoo dogs. Heck, if those movie star people will pay $10,000 or more for a dog, normal people shouldn't have a prob paying me $800.00

Hey honey, I don't mind the answers I get. I'm still gonna do it anyways. Just want to know what to charge. What do you think about $800.00? Sound about right?

Hey kgrieves: Can you read? Cause if you can you should see that my question was what to charge, not should I do it? What part of my question made you think I was seeking your approval?
And the poodle is solid white, so were her parents. My buddies mother-n-law owns the parents of that dog. My wife got her dog from a co-worker who has the dam of our dog, and the sire is owned by a lady who owns a kennel and breeds Maltese dogs. My vet is my neighbor, so I don't have to worry about that. He comes over everytime I have a new litter of hybrids and checks them out.

personally i never heard of a malti poo,but go for it.personally this AKC crap gets on my nerves.no dog(except wolves) are pure breeds. all dogs are mixed up mottled wolves. If the people want to pay that much for something by all means cash in on it. Just make sure you run a good clean operation and get the first checkups.
I wish you was online last night ,since you breed hybrids. i want to breed my hybrid with an AKC Shepherd to get pups that are less likely to be aggressive and have better health. i am not worried about registering them, and they are legal where i live up to 85%.

I don't know why the Vet person said don't do it. She should have given a reason.
You have to be responsible for the health and well being of the two dogs and whatever pups they might have. I would think you could get in touch with breeders of both/either breeds that would be nice enough to help you out with questions, etc. Read and study everything you can on breeding these small, darling dogs.
You cannot use your knowledge from breeding wolves. Every breed and the problems they could/do have vary greatly. You have to know what to do when you run into a problem during the pregnancy and delivery. The adult dogs and especially the pups need special attention after delivery. The pups need to be handled and talked to daily. You are forming their personalities long before they go to their new homes.
I have a Maltese and got to know the breeder. She only has the mother in her home. Her various studs, etc. all belong to other family members. She spends time with the babies on a daily basis and giving mom the much needed attention she needs also. My pup was piddle pad trained at TWO WEEKS old. He is nine months now and more human than dog. (I won't brag any more). My point is my breeder made him the wonderful family member he is.
Now to the price. Is the Poodle white? I wanted to know if the pups could be multi colored? With both parents registered with A.K.C. you should be able to ask $400.00 for the males and $425.00 for females. Perhaps more, depending on where you are located. You need to stay in touch with your Vet during this time also. The mom needs vitamins and special nourishment.
Of course, after the delivery, the pups need to be checked by the vet and you are responsible for the first set of shots.
You will need purchase agreements and whatever health certificates you are going to use. Be sure you have copies of the parent's registration with A.K.C.
I would not even consider this if I you until I did my homework. You don't want any problems that would endanger your dogs.
$800.00 is too much. I paid $600.00 for my purebred. It doesn't matter what those air brain idiots in Hollywood pay. Money doesn't have any value to them. You can ask that much, but you might find yourself holding the pups longer than you want to. Like I said, it depends on your location too.

Maltipoos are mixed breeds, so there is not any consistency between one domestic dog and the subsequent. some will appear like poodles, some will appear like maltese and a few would be a blend. high quality breeders won't intentionally breed mixed breed canines. you need to pay not greater for those canines than you may pay at a shield or rescue enterprise for adoption of a mixed breed. Your ultimate guess is to undertake a mixed breed canines at a shield and shop a existence.

The vet was right. You disgust me. Irresponsible and uneductaed breeders are the reason these kinds of dogs have health and behavioral problems. You are the reason there is a pet overpopulation problem. Furthermore, since you don't know anything about breeding these two dogs you could have complications and have the mother die. Choke on your money, and your ill-bred dogs.

Sell them for a buck and I hope you choke on it, people like you have no business breeding dogs. You know nothing of the breeds and as you state you are doing it for the money. So keep your attitude in check, you are just showing your ignorance. And if you don't like the answers you are gonna get then TOUGH go cry someplace else.
SO BIG MAN IF YOUR GONNA DO IT ANYWAY, WHY ARE YOU ASKING THE QUESTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I will never approve of anything those who breed dogs for money do. But you asked the question and I answered it, why do you keep adding to your post. Just shut your hole and choke on your dollar.

Well, since you didn't ask if, ethically, you SHOULD breed these dogs, I won't go there. Just average what similar dogs in your area are selling for, and go for that.
**Shame on you!**
