because our government (specifically in Ontario) put fourth several; initiatives in our public schools to rid them of peanuts due to the fact that many children have peanut allergies and as a result companies like the company that produces mars stopped putting peanuts in their chocolate bars as to keep the product attractive as a snack food in the public school system.

Because there are so many kids that are allergic to Peanuts (adults too though) and the government decided to make it Peanut free so everyone can enjoy them.
It's so bad that (In some schools anything that contains any type of Peanut product, is banned from the school)

They have a facility where they manufacture the bars that does not manufacture anything with peanuts. The MARS bars therefore contain no traces of peanuts so people with deadly peanut allergies can eat them.

It is hard tio beat a good old Reese's Peanut Butter Cup but a frozen Snickers comes close.

good question i was wondering the same thing, i'm guessing because alot of people is alergic to it, but i still think they should make some that's peanut free but keep some for the people that actully like it with the peanuts

A) Most canadians are allergic to peanuts.
B) There is no peanut farms in Canada
C) There is no French word for "peanut"

NO OTHER CANDY IS MADE IN THAT PLANT THAT CONTAINS PEANUTS. WHEN CANDY IS MADE WHERE PEANUTS ARE USED THEY HAVE TO PUT "MAY CONTAIN PEANUTS" ON THE LABEL IN CASE SOMEONE HAS A PEANUT ALLERGY

I would assume they decided they had enough nuts there already.
Maybe they won't deal with countries that sell peanuts.
