beer batter has beer in it. I have a recipe for beer battered fish, and fried chicken; no it does not taste like beer unless you add a whole can...but it does change the flavor. you can add beer to any batter recipe...including pancakes. beer batter tastes and is great!!! hope this helped you!!

Before it's cooked it does have a little of a beer taste but after wards it really doesn't. The carbonation in the beer helps make the breading more light and fluffy as it fries. The hops makes the batter a little savory and the yeast can make it a little sweeter without added sugars.

yes, beer batter has flat beer.. and is used to coat fish, chicken, etc before frying
INGREDIENTS
* 1 cup all-purpose flour
* 1 teaspoon salt
* 1 teaspoon baking powder
* 1/2 teaspoon dried dill weed
* 3/4 cup beer
* 1/2 cup milk
* 2 eggs
* 2 pounds cod fillets
* 2 quarts vegetable oil for frying
DIRECTIONS
1. In a large bowl, mix together flour, salt, baking powder, and dill. Add beer, milk, and eggs; mix well.
2. Place fish fillets in batter mixture, coat well, and let stand for 15 minutes.
3. Heat deep fryer to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Place fish in hot oil, and fry until golden brown. Cook fish in batches to maintain oil temperature. Serve.

It does contain and no it doesn't taste like beer, it geos crispier than normal beer thats all...yummy
