I think war in Iraq is worse issue than that. Illegal immigrants are just people who come here to get a better life, i mean they're not terrorists or anything. It seems like people are really exaggerating about this.
And by the way, i'm NOT a pro illegal, but i'm not a "xenophobic" either..

If you ever lived or had to work in an area that has seen the negative effects of illegal immigration you'd understand. Let me explain it this way. The war in Iraq and the war on terror is a big deal. If there is a terrorist attack in the US its like someone getting shot, which is obviously a big problem.

Illegal immigration is more like cancer. Cancer is caused by uncontrolled cell growth. Even though a body is made up of cells, and nobody is anti-cell, cell growth that is uncontrolled can very slowly kill someone.

Its the same thing with a nation, like the US. We are a nation made up of people, many of them immigrations or decedents of immigrants. The problem is with uncontrolled immigration that we do not have a handle on, that is of a kind not of our choosing and a kind that we are powerless to contain.

To put it more directly, we cannot sustain the number of people that are coming here illegally. We are the ones that are supposed to choose the number of people to allow to come here and where they should come from. Right now our policy of deciding who will make up the future of the country is that anyone that can break into the country must be good enough to become a citizen.

This notion that anyone who sneaks across the border without any inspection, or anyone who overstays a visa is simply looking for a better life is absurd. There is a ton of gang violence that is real and deadly going on right across the border, and some of that violence is spilling over to our side. Some of these drug and human smugglers have no qualms about bringing terrorist into the country.

Why in the world would you think that because someone comes here illegally they must be great people? The fact is we can only take care of so many poor, uneducated people before we start being a country of poor, uneducated people. The reason that people are fed up with illegal immigration is that we as US citizens are having our quality of life destroyed by the sheer number of illegal immigrants.

These people require a place to live, water, food, supplies, police protection, education for their children, care for their relatives that are sick or elderly. It is the responsibily of their own country to provide these kinds of services, not the US. Every dollar we spend building a school for the children of illegals is a dollar we are not spending on our own children. As with any large group of poor and uneducated people, a lot of them are violent criminals that no nothing of the American culture. Since so many are coming they live in their own areas and since in many cases they outnumber Americans we are forced to change, not them.

Illegal immigration is such an issue because these people are breaking the backs of the American tax payers! They come here and get free health care, food, etc. We cannot be mama and papa to all these illegals.
You might want to get on the right team!
The war in Iraq is bad, for certain! Though this has no place being mentioned in 'immigration'!
However, we are faced with a war on the home front with these illegal immigrants.

Its not just some people who come to get a better life, its millions of people who come to your shores and take up the jobs that would have been taken by full American citizens, but who are now jobless.

Also immigrants usually accept jobs for much lower salaries, causing a general decrease due to a lower demand for workers.

This happens to millions of US citizens, what ever they are Republicans or Democrats.
And the government that has permitted that influx of immigrant will surely loose the next election they have only caused joblessness and misery.

Jobless people tend to increase crime, drug use and homeless people.
All the above said is only the first part of the damage.

There are still other damaging issues like:

An increase in crime.
Less taxes paid to the government.
You start to see poverty in the streets.
Terrorists can freely come and go into the US.
Rare sickness from south America or Africa can start spreading in the US.
Medical Services made for a certain population are not capable of attending the great increase of patients.

These are some of the consequences one has to meditate about.

oh my heavens. Illegal Immigration is a major problem. If they want to get to the USA and have the freedoms that we have then they need to do it the right way. Stop coming here and taking all the resources that are meant for the people that are hear leagally.

We just had about a dozen bus loads of illegals transported off this island. And thank goodness for that!

I am not against someone coming here from another country to make a better life for their families or themselves as that is what this country was founded on. However they need to do it the right way.

America does have a/ problem with illegal immigration. Why not just let anyone in that wants in? Illegally that is. Im not against anyone coming into America legally its those that come in illegally that erk me. They do not pay taxes but expect all the comforts of America for free. Schooling, Health care etc. I believe America should help all that we can. But what if someone came into America with a nuclear device across our boarder and kills your family then how would you feel. WAS 9/11 an exaggeration. Do it right become an American OR Leave please.

a lot of americans would love a better life also, but can't get it because our friggin TAX DOLLARS that we have to pay are going towards illegals and anyone else who needs a helping hand, whether it is here in the U.S. or some foreign country. Why should the AMERICAN people foot the bill for everyone else? ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!! Millions of AMERICANS have no medical insurance, yet the illegals go to the emergency room like it is the friggin doctor's office and they don't care about the cost. People who have worked all their lives and are retiring...face what is left of their future worried about paying for their medicine...food...and medical care and hope to hell they can hold on to their home and not be forced to sell it to pay for medical expenses should they get really sick or have to go into a nursing home. Illegals will work for less cause they don't have to worry about paying for their medical care cause it's FREE!!! I know my life would be a lot less stressful if I didn't have to pay HIGH TAXES, had FREE medical coverage and could go to the emergency room every time I got sick and not have to worry about the cost.
Hell, I have a deductible and have a 20% co-pay with my insurance and pay $225.00 a month premium for it through work. and the premium goes up every year. IT'S NOT FREE!!! The American people are not exagerating about this...as you put it....we have a damn right to complain about it when WE ARE THE ONE'S FOOTING THE BILL!!!

Yeah they come here to get a better life but so do LEGAL immigrants. People have to go through the long process while ILLEGAL immigrants just get to skip over here and demand amnesty, something they do NOT deserve.

Do you know how much money we lose each year because of them? They don't give the government anything and make US pay for the things they demand like health insurance.

Charity starts at home. We have homeless citizens that could work the jobs the illegals take.

the war in Iraq is an issue, and one that cant' be ignored and should be debated. but in contrast, there is a war on illegal immigration
in the U.S. that also needs to be addressed. your idea that illegals
are not terrorist is incorrect, the people that flew the planes into the towers and into the Pentagon were not here legally, killing thousands of innocent Americans. the push to make everyone
that enters the country identifiable is to try and make sure that this won't happen again. and you must be confusing xenophobia
with being careful and trying to protect our boarders from people that may cause us harm. sleep well tonight knowing that they are doing their best to protect our boarders.

For me it's because there are thousands of other people from other countries besides Mexico and Latin America waiting to enter here by legal means, i.e. children of immigrants from far away that can't simply walk across the border. I paid out the *** to bring my wife here legally, it took over a year and a lot paper work and travel over seas. There are social issues as well, such as the free medical care for the new born children, the schooling. So, what to do? I say, create living wages for those areas of labor and maybe more white trash would go get a job in the fields.

Ummmm, what part of the word "illegal" don't you understand? Also, what proof do you have that ALL illegals coming into this country are NOT terrorists? Oh, by the way, the CIA DOES have proof that the terrorists have been trying to recruit Hispanic people. Geez, now I wonder why that is?

ps: if they want a better life.........then they can come here LEGALLY!
