There are three main beliefs concerning Holy Communion, aka the Eucharist, aka the Mass
Some believe in transubstantiation -- that the bread/crackers and juice become the actual, literal, and physical Body of Christ, sacrificed anew on the altar.
Some believe in consubstantion -- that the bread and juice do not literally change but that spiritually Christ's body and blood are present in, under, and with the elements in the Sacrament.
Some believe the Sacrament is just a "memorial feast"; remembering the Last Supper, remembering how Christ shed His Blood for our sins.
It is like one Minister explained it ... if you visited him, you might see a picture of his mother on the wall. You know it is just some paper/cardboard and some ink or other such substances. He might point out the picture to you and say "that is my mother". Do you think that picture actually is his mother? Or do you realize that it is just a representation of his mother? Likewise, when we take the Sacrament, we say "the Body and the Blood"; we remember what the elements resemble.

What denomination is your Grandma's church? Some churches believe that when the bread and wine are passed around that they actually become the body and blood of Jesus which they don't. The bread and wine, or crackers and grape juice in this case, only represent his body and blood. At the Last Supper when Jesus and the disciples ate the bread and drank the wine it was showing what was to come that being Jesus' death on the cross.

It's symbolic
they aren't lying
The people at that church would freak if they brought in a big platter of human flesh and a huge urn of blood and made the congregation eat it.

i think of I honestly have many different issues i could extremely be nerve-racking approximately than despite the fact that if or no longer a congregation is having intercourse each night. Now, i does no longer subject your head over this except: a million) He asks to video reveal or 2) The pastor is calling the couples to have interplay of their daily intercourse jointly as they're AT church. rigidity over funds in lots of cases fractures marriages. What greater effective way is there for a married couple to miss their economic woes for a jointly as? :) edit: I decrease back with a splash tale for you. A rabbi dies and his congregation comes to a decision, after some time, that the rebetzin ought to marry lower back. on account that's a small village, the only obtainable candidate is the interior reach butcher. despite the fact that if very reluctantly, considering she grew to become into used to living with a pupil, she accepts. After the marriage, on Friday night merely after taking a bathtub interior the mikvah, the recent husband tells the rebetzin, "look, my mom continually pronounced that till now the beginning up a of Shabbos, that's a mitzvah to make intercourse till now going to the synagogue." They do it. whilst they comeback from shul he tells her, "in accordance to my father, that's a mitzvah to make love till now lights the candles." There they pass lower back. whilst it's time to pass to sleep, he tells her, "My grandfather advised me that one might desire to continually have intercourse on Shabbos night." finally, they pass to sleep and whilst they awaken the subsequent morning he tells her, "My aunt says that a non secular Jew continually starts off the Shabbos by way of having intercourse. So shall we do it." finally on Sunday, she is going out to the industry and meets a pal who asks her, "Nu, so how is the recent husband?" "nicely, an psychological he isn't, yet he comes from a spectacular kinfolk!!!"

Based on all of your negative questions about churches, why do you go? Why not stay home and let others worship as they desire?
