My chihuahua was recently visited by a stray pug. As soon as I saw him around I put her up and wouldn't let her outside by herself. Couple days after she started acting peculiar and her period came down. She is 7 months old. Now I notice that her **** are getting enlarged. Does this mean that she is pregnant?

If the heat cycle(bleeding) started after the wandering romeo visited, then she is not pregnant. If she is still in heat, please keep her inside unless on a leash, not out where any stray dog can come by and have his way with her. If she were to get bred by a large dog, you could stand to lose her. Plus she is much too young to have pups. Unless you plan to breed her, have her spayed.

Her VULVA if that is what you are talking about, gets swollen when she is "in season".
If she was not in heat when the dog was around...she is not pregnant. Were you there all the time?????

Not all bit ches go out of season when bred.
If you have an unspayed female, you should NEVER let them outside alone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You should get her checked out by a vet. A 7 month Chi bred to a Pug may not be a good mix. The heads of a Pug are LARGE and your dog could require a c-section.

She could be bred, did you see them tie? She may also be having a false pregnancy, but that's not as common. You will notice her vulva does not go back to it's original size, her nipples may get enlarged, she may vomit in the morning or evening, and she may become more "needy" and stick closer to you. Also, dogs go out of season after they are bred. Hope that helps.

GET HER SPAYED -- she's likely either pregnant or false pregnant -- either way it doesn't sound like you know enough about dog reproduction to be whelping puppies -- have her spayed.
