many because of the hours, and the people they have to deal with on a daily basis and the things they see, many have a hard time dealing with it.
They have a high divorce rate, a high drinking rate and while I don't know about suicides, as a officer I knew of two that did, one while in the police academy

Psycoanlysis / Psycologists have the highest % of suicides amoung professions with Dentists coming in at #2. Good Luck ! :)

Thats actually a myth. Highest suicied rates are among medical personel, specifically dentists. As for domestic violence, thats a miss-leading statistic. Many many ex-spouses of police officers claim they were abused after the divorce because they know it will scre-up the ex spouses carreer.

depends on the cop sometimes they learn to appreciate life because they see how short life is...they see the consequences of stupid choices first hand.....thats when you know he's/she's a good cop...when he/she around evil all the time but can see or tries to see a little bit of good in situations...
