The main thing is you need to have the right attitude. The RDC's are there to teach you how to be the best sailor you can be. No matter how much you know about the Navy, there is always more to know. Make sure you respect them and be willing to learn from them even if they seem mean.

The main thing you are to learn in boot camp is that you are part of a team. The team will be as effective as you are willing to make it. Not only that, each member of the team is equally important and has something to contribute, no matter what their place in the chain of command may be. This is your Navy, give it your all, and she will do the same for you.

You also need to realise that nothing is ever fun all the time. And your best memories will come from the times that are a little uncomfortable and push you to grow.

Don't worry. Boot camp was designed to take people who had never experienced it before and help them succeed. And it was put in place to make you the best sailor you can be, not to make you feel bad.

If I could change one thing about my experience in boot camp, I would change my attitude. I thought that if I remained invisible and faded into the woodwork, that I would stay out of trouble. I am glad I never got in trouble, but I wish that I had allowed myself to be myself. In short, have fun!! And let us know how it goes for you.

Learn these

General Orders Of A Sentry

The (first) general order of a sentry is to:

1. Take charge of this post and all government property in view.

2. Walk my post in a military manner, keeping always on the alert and observing everything that takes place within sight or hearing.

3. Report all violations of orders I am instructed to enforce.

4. Repeat all calls more distant from the guardhouse than my own.

5. Quit my post only when properly relieved.

6. Receive, obey, and pass on to the sentry that relieves me, all orders from the Commanding Officer, Command Duty Officer, Officer of the Deck, and Officers and Non-Commissioned Officers of the watch only.

7. Talk to no one except in the line of duty.

8. Give the alarm in case of fire or disorder.

9. Call the Officer of the Deck in any case not covered by instructions.

10. Salute all officers and all colors and standards not cased.

11. Be especially watchful at night and during the time for challenging, to challenge all persons on or near my post, and to allow no one to pass without proper authority.

It depends on what your rate will be.
Boot camp is easy, simply shut up, listen and follow orders.
Pay attention to detail, do your best, really absorb what they are
teaching you.

I would start reading about your rate, thats where you can excell,
make advancement, get offers of even additional schools.

Physical training, sit and reach, situps, pushups, running.
1.5 miles easy compared to the other brances, except airforce.
if you have any trouble in those areas, start doing them now.

LIke anything the more you put in, the more you will get out of it.

It's nothing like full metal jacket, remember you are joining the Navy...we use our intellect....Marines and Army are grunts...
We all show and do our jobs and sacrifice but in different ways.

2 days? Enjoy them, don't think about anything, just enjoy your last two days of freedom for awhile. There will be surprises, but you won't be alone. I hope you don't mind the hair cut you are going to get or the lack of sleep. Hope you can make a bed. But they will teach all of that, and you will learn it to their specification. So enjoy yourself, and work on getting your thick skin ready and go with a smile.

I can't help you there but I have a favor to ask ? would you please be on the watch for any one doing totally horrible things to other people and letting that be blames on Americans? We are not behind these things and we do not approve of them we are trying to take our country back just give us time to impeach him and his murdering crew and we will once again gain the respect of the world we are a good people the ones misrepresenting us are not.
