Doris from the knitting group said she was going start eating a Biblical diet. I was too embarrassed to ask what that meant, because everyone else, even Mary Beth, nodded in agreement. I don't know what that means, because I've never read a recipe in the Bible. I read the King James Version, so I don't really understand everything, but I know a recipe from a mile way. Well, I need to find out what Doris meant, because she is bringing her son over tomorrow afternoon to see the train set my husband built in the basement and I don't know what a Biblical diet is. Please advise, dear ladies.

I think it has something to do with manna and honey. It sounds awful so I just take a hot dish.

A Biblical diet usually means that the person does not eat the food prohibited in the book of Leviticus. They don't eat pork, shellfish, catfish, or birds of prey.
Sometimes it also means that they avoid meat, based on texts in Genesis and Daniel that indicate that a vegetable-based diet is healthier. They may also emphasize whole grains.
If you want to be completely safe, serve something meatless, like spaghetti with marinara sauce or peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. If it's just an afternoon thing, a fruit and veggie tray would be appropriate
And don't be afraid to ask her. My guess is that she'd love to be asked.

Cream of Manna is always a delightful repast to have on hand when church ladies come to call:
Although updated with modern ingredients, in spirit, this recipe follows the same traditional lines as the Cream of Manna from the bible:
1 cup farina or cream of wheat
1 cup (quick cooking) oatmeal
4 cups of milk or water. (Goat milk is lovely for this) (Boil the water first, if you're taking it from the public well)
pinch of sea salt
Grease from roasted yak
Simmer all ingredients over low sacrificial pyre until thick and bubbly.
For added snap, or to impress the Bishop, toss in some fresh locusts, or some whole fishes.
Say grace - Eat in heavenly peace

3. put in two teaspoons/cups/buckets of sin (or to your prefered taste)
4. Cook in fires of hell for eternity.
Bon appertit!! Don't gnash your teeth when eating!

Page 56, just after "and Hosiath begat Allgraamabad. And now for the portion of the book where we tell you how to cook the wonderful dishes you have read about." I think it goes on to list a heavenly (how else would it be really?) Tater tot casserole. Tastes so good you may mistake it for the body of Christ.

The word diet appears once in this verse.
Whatever you fix for dinner, have a plate of bread for Doris.
Prophecy Of Jeremias
Chapter 52
31 And it came to pass in the seven and thirtieth year of the captivity of Joachin king of Juda, in the twelfth month, the five and twentieth day of the month, that Evilmerodach king of Babylon, in the first year of his reign, lifted up the head of Joachin king of Juda, and brought him forth out of prison. 32 And he spoke kindly to him, and he set his throne above the thrones of the kings that were with him in Babylon. 33 And he changed his prison garments, and he ate bread before him always all the days of his life. 34 And for his diet a continual provision was allowed him by the king of Babylon, every day a portion, until the day of his death, all the days of his life.

Biblically based.
You have everything you need for true physical nourishment and great health from our Provider in Genesis 1:29.
“And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat [food].” – Genesis 1:29
