Religion is only as good as what you put into it (much like everything else). From what little I know of you the discipline of being a Catholic, the traditions, there services and the community might be good for you. I am Catholic. I am not always good at it or happy with some of the ways but I also know that change comes from within. First of our selves and then by others through our actions. Good luck with whatever path you decide and remember that as long as your intentions are pure and you are honoring your God you can not go wrong. Blessed Be. ;)

If you're going to be Christian, why not go all the way? Why settle for partial truth, partial worship, manmade tradition? There are hundreds of manmade semi-Christian churches to choose from. Just decide what you want to believe, and then find the church which teaches that. Or, if you are truly interested in genuine truth, go to the Church founded by Jesus Christ Himself on the Apostles, the Church with a 2,000 year history of unwavering doctrinal truth, the Church which celebrates the holy Sacraments Jesus instituted as channels of divine grace, the Church which the Word of God calls "the pillar and foundation of truth". There you will find unity and peace in Jesus Christ, in a way that cannot be found anywhere else this side of heaven.

I was raised in a Catholic family. When I became old enough to learn things beyond what was poured into my skull, I began to find out the truth of what the Catholic Church hides.
Do you really know what you're getting into in the Catholic Church? If you are truely open minded, and want to know the truth, read unbiased Catholic history, not just the stuff the Catholic Church censors.
The Catholic Church has not changed. It may not have the power and influence it had in the Dark ages, but its attitude is still the same today as it was then.
I got fed up with the lies and went searching for the truth myself,... and found it. You can too, if you really want it.
"For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened." (Matthew 7:8)

Hi STEP UP, I think it's great that you chose to be a christian, and that you are taking it seriously enough to study what's out there. And the Catholic church has been around for a looooong time, so there's lots to study. I am a Protestant myself, but I do respect the Catholic church. I would only suggest that you take your time, pray, study and ask Holy Spirit to be your helper. You'll be fine as long as you keep a sincere heart. Be encouraged; you're doing well.
Hoping the best for you...

I'm thrilled your a new believer and the only thing about cathlics are they come very close to WORSHIPPING humans. I agree mary must have been something if God chose her to carry His son and also the saints but they are just humans like you and me who submitted to the will of God. No where in the bible does it say you have to confess or ask for forgiveness from anyone other then God. I dont know much about catholics but this is the impression I've gotten

I do not agree with a lot of what Catholics believe, but I do not believe in being overly critical of other Christians. If Catholicism is a good fit for you......Be Blessed !

That is your decision. The god you believe in supposedly gave you free will. Since when is free will dependent on other's opinions? All christians read from scriptures written by jews. You are all jewish to me. Jesus is your messiah and he was jewish. Yeah and your tone is not heard through text but it is up to you to set the tone by making someone aware of one you imagine we hear through text. Why do you think someone thinks you are less a christian than a catholic? All christian religions left out many books when they compiled them into the bible they chose. The protestants left out several books of the bible so when they pick at your religion just think that they are working with less than they are supposed to have and have discarded with their free will the words of your god. Religion is picking and choosing words to satisfy your earthly needs and has no regard for any god's word. All written in books are man's words and cannot be trutsted. If you have to trust what god says then it would be nothing because he hasn't spoke to you or anyone else. If someone claims to hear god talking to them they are a schizophrenic. You worrying about what others thinks is a prime example of how christians are sheep led around by their shepherd. You are so sheeplike that you are led around by what people think. Listen to yourself. If you weren't so easily led you wouldn't worry or follow what others say. Having to choose a religion like food off of a shelf in a store shows that you do not choose a religion based on your true beliefs but choose a religion by what you think others will think if you choose the right or wrong choice, not your own choice. If you chose a religion from a blank slate you would not be able to choose one. You choose by other's influence, how others react to your choice, and by peer pressure. When we reveal our own choice based on what we really have experienced in an honest way we would find we have no real basis for believing in any religion but base it on what others choose for us based on tradition and intimidation to believe by threats of living in sin or going to hell. Fear, intimidation, peer pressure, brainwashing, etc. are the only basis for christian beliefs not a real relation to a real god.

Remember that the Church is for sinners not the self righteous.
Protestants are our brothers in Christ. The schism in the Body of Christ must be healed between Christian Catholics and Protestant Christians.
I am happy for your inquiry and journey towards Christ.

I'm glad you became a christian, if that's true.
as for the catholic part, that's your decision, just study the bible and test their beleifs with scriptures and you'll hopefully be able to figure out what's wrong and what isn't, if you have an open mind, you'll be able to understand what religion is the right one. hope it goes well for you though!

I guess you have to go step by step. First step is becoming a Christian. Second step becoming a Catholic. Third changing churches and joining the true one.
