I have heard of this before I forget what it is called but there is even a name for it they grow out of it. I would ways to help them calm down and not get overly excited but even though you don't want to hear it ask the doctor for suggestions. But I have heard of it I think it happens to a lot of children but I swear they grow out of it. The boy I know is sixteen now and doesn't run around throwing up when he gets excited, well maybe prom :)

Before you read the main portion of this answer, just so you know, I am not one of these fast-food-bashers, I agree that anyone should have the right to eat what they want whenever they want to.
That said, maybe you should consider not taking him to McDonald's anymore. I know that this sounds like your typical smart aleck answer that plagues serious questions, but really, I honestly don't think that food is healthy for anyone, especially a child. I know, if you're a toddler getting food that comes with a toy at a place with a really great playground sounds like what you might want to be doing for the rest of your life, but really, that food just isn't for kids. Did you know that McDonald's is the biggest consumer of cow eyeballs, among other refuse, in the world?
Furthermore, walking into a particular place and vomiting is to me a brilliant example of the type of communication to expect from a child, since they do comunicate on more levels than we do, at least until they get their first years of schooling and begin to discover, -among other institutionalized forms of comunication- written language. Perhaps you should consider this your kid's organism's way of saying something.

That is normal. My kids throw up especially if they are upset. Even my older ones sometimes. My 2 year old just did it the other day. I dont know if they have ever done it when they are excited though. But I still wouldnt worry. My cousins little girl age 2 when she is upset holds her breath until her eyes roll back in her head and she passes out. At least you dont have that problem..lol, That freaks me out but her doctor doesnt even seem concerned about that. So I think your son is fine.

I only noticed that when my children were little that they would throw up when they were sick and when given a supository to get the bowel's moving they would'nt throw up anymore. As for your child I think he may have a little nervious stomach when he get's excited in some area's, so I would diffenitly let your pediatrition know and see what they have to say! P.S. did you know that critic acid is a stimulant and you should'nt give it to your young childern before bedtime, this includes vitamans or any kind of juice. Just water or milk! It keep's them up at night.

When we were kids, my sister used to do that. She threw up all the time. My Mom took her to our Dr. and to a specialist, and they could find nothing wrong with her. Even as an adult she can make herself sick when she is excited or sad or mad or nervous. In fact, you can sit and watch her work herself into a nervous wreck over something. I think when this little boy gets older he will outgrow this behavior, if not teach him some ways that he can calm himself down to avoid problems. Ask a Pediatrician or a counselor that specializes in children's care what techniques he can use.
My sister was diagnosed as having Irritable Bowel Syndrome as an adult. I'm not sure if this can start in childhood, but look into it.

Some kids do that when they're overly excited so its probably no big deal. However just a thought my boy has asthma and when it flares up he too does sometimes throw up when he coughs alot or works himself up by cruing or running around. Just a thought get the doc to check him out nexttime especially when he has a cold. Good luck.

My friends child just turned four. He apparently does the same thing.. they have to be careful he doesn't start running around like crazy after he eats because he'll throw it up. This is apparently normal.
McDonald's food is really hard on a digestive system, especially a child's, because of all the grease. If you're letting him eat and then play, try reversing the order.

It's not uncommon, but have you ever wondered if it's possibly something about McDonald's? Ex: the smell, the environment. A lot of little things like that can set the poor little kid's system off.

Maybe his stomach can not handle the grease in McD foods? Try to get him to stay relaxed for the first 15-20 minutes after he eats. Bring a coloring book w/crayons or something. Maybe this will keep him busy while his stomach tries to digest.

It sounds like a nervous disorder. He could even be sensitive to something within the McDonalds store.
