Definitely. He has a problem. You should also seek help for him. Drinking goes hand in hand with physical abuse

How old is he? If he is under age then you need to have a serious talk with him. He needs to stop. Either way you need to make sure you take care of you. Dont get in the car with him when he drinks at all. Most definetly you should break up if he becomes abusive. Being drunk is the last thing you should be worried about. The drinking a lot is the issue. He may be an alcoholic or on the fast track to becoming one. He needs help. If he and the relationship is worth it then talk to him - if he is willing to get help - get help. The internet, the yellow pages, your parents, your church. Help is out there. Just look for it.

Break up is not the solution. however, people that drink and don't get drunk eventually will get drunk drinking small quantities; that is a health problem.
If you love him help him. Just because he is not getting drunk does not mean he can drink or needs to empty the whole bar!!!!

i don't have a boyfriend, i have a husband. you should break up with him regardless of whether he drinks a lot or not. he's MY husband! okay....beyond the literality of your question, and in an attempt to answer your question, why would you want to break up with him? if he doesn't get drunk, how does that affect your relationship? maybe you're just not mature enough to realize that there are some of out here who can drink a lot and not get drunk, with harm to no one. hope this helped and good luck to you!

He is getting drunk. He's just figured out how to appear sober - enough. His drinking will just get worse and worse. If you are hoping he's Mr. Right, forget about it. He will leave you lonely and miserable. I know. I had the same problem. It took along time for me to get over it and find the right guy.
