I just want to know who here thinks that if a dog ingests frontline or advantix that it will make them sick. I already know the answer. I just want to see how many of these people really know what they are talking about.

If I were guessing, I would say it could make them sick, considering it's a prescription medication for flea control. However, since it's also to be put on the body of the animal (from neck to tail base) it would not make them sick. The animal obliviously is able to (in most cases) turn and lick their backside, or scratch their neck and then lick their paws, so it should not make them sick. In huge quantities, it would probably make them sick. If they injested the entire 3 month supply. But, of course, I'm only guessing too! ;-)

By the way: I also read everyone else's comment, and I want to let you all know, that Frontline and Advantix is a flea control. Not a pain killer. It is used to keep the fleas away.
Are you going to post an answer quoting a Vet or the company that distributes the product?

Hi, it seems you are a smart person, bcause of your avatar and your challenge. Well maybe these is a veterinarian questions, i am not one, but as far as i know if a dog ingests an AINE, it will have renal dispairment bcause they dont have our enzimes for metabolize this class od drugs. And another good question would be, if a dog has a pain, what kind of pain killer you can give?

I have seen a dog lick the Frontline OFF another dog right after it was applied. Some drooling, but nothing else happened.

If you already know the answer, why ask?????????????? You would think you would be trying to answer a question for helping someone instead of asking a question on something you already know.Time is precious and not something to waste.Try helping someone on here instead of wasting others time. You will feel good about yourself when you're chosen the best answer,as the thought of helping someone today makes you proud.

Humm....I don't know. I will never use either product because I won't put poison on my dogs. I'm going to guess it will cause some discomfort but not ultimately kill or harm your dog, at least not that you will see immediately.

Well, it couldn't be GOOD. And on the back of the boxes it says if it eats it, contact a vet.
