Yes and no. I have cut before (a lot) but not for the rush. I cut because I was depressed and felt empty. When I cut it made me feel something other than pain and heartache.

Yes and no. I've been a cutter for over 11 years and I'm only 20. Sometimes I cut just for the feeling of pain, helps you to remember that your still alive, if you understand that. Sometimes i'd cut because I was depressed and wanted physical pain to help block the mental pain. but seriously, you do need to get some help. I cut to deep and almost died. Plus, do you really want to be covered in scars?

I'm not sure. Maybe she thought you were doing it for attention? But what ever the reason for someone cutting, there is obviously something wrong that you need help with to fix. Maybe talk to your dad or another family member or close family friend, just someone you trust. They may be able to help you get help with the reason you are doing this, and they may be able to help you talk to your mom. And if who ever you talk to tells you things like "Oh, It's all in your head" or "You're just doing it for attention" or anything like that don't let it get you down. This is often seen in shows or movies and it really does happen when someone asks for help, they can be denied that help and it makes matters worse to the point that they either purposefully or accidentally kill them selves. Keep your head up, there are people that care about you, you just have to search a bit to find them. And if they don't then they aren't worth having in your life.

No. I cut for my feelings of emptiness. But not for the rush. What rush are you talking about?

No, I cut because I feel like everything I do I fail at doing it. When i cut it makes it feel like everything I think I did wrong just comes pouring out of me as if the blood that is coming out is what i feel i did wrong.

About 1% of Americans (and there is reason to believe that that number is a huge underestimation) self-harm themselves.

Morbid fear of anything sharp coming near me, so no.
Are you referring to an adrenaline rush?
