I purchase Microsoft Office for my Mac.
I would like to make a backup copy of the disk only.
How can I do this? Is it a DVD or CD?

I always keep backup copies of programs on CD-RWs, since it isn't like you'll every try to run it in a DVD or CD player anyway -- plus you have the added convenience of being someday able to remove the content or add other program content, without compromising the copy you have saved.

It's legal as long as you don't give it to other people or sell it. Plus since Microsoft knows that not all computers have a DVD drive, they made it CD.

Try just burning it with your burning program and it will not let you burn the wrong disk. It will ask for a CD or DVD to be inserted in the correct drive. You will need a DVD burner to burn a DVD...Thanks

It is legal to do that. It will say if it's a DVD on the disc itself. If it doesn't say DVD, it's a CD.
