would it upset you if your child chose one of these other faiths? Which would bother you the least? Which the most? Be honest.

I'd be utterly unconcerned about a conversion to Catholicism, as my spouse is Catholic. Judaism? We have Jews in the family. Not a problem. Buddhism? Already have Buddhists in the family, too. A conversion to Hinduism or Islam would concern me more, simply due to the prejudice of others toward these religions, particularly Islam. However, whatever decision was made, I would do my best to respect it and be encouraging.

I just want to clarify something. Catholics DO NOT WORSHIP MARY!! Can't you Protestants get that through your thick skulls? And before you say anything about the sacrament of confession find out why it's important to true Catholics. It's actually a beautiful sacrament and I find peace everytime I go. I know I don't have to go to a priest to have my sins forgiven. There is so much more than just going to a priest and confessing your sins. It's almost like a mini therapy session and it's free. Studies have shown that Catholics who take advantage of going to confession suffer less from depression and other mental problems. So please stop with the Catholic bashing especially when you know nothing about the faith in it's true essence.

Sorry, I didn't mean to use your question as a way to blow off some steam. I couldn't help myself after reading some of the answers.
Being a Christian I would be very very upset if my children decided to renounce their faith in Jesus Christ to follow any false religion. Call me close minded but that is what I believe.

I would be upset if one of my sons rejected Jesus as the Son of God the Father. But they all know that I respect their free will and that I will love them no matter what they believe or do with their lives. I just hope and pray the best for them, and that includes their choices of faith. I would be least upset if they became Catholic. I have alot of respect for the Catholic faith. They've done alot of good; and they recognize Jesus for who he is. In fact, when I'm up late at night sometimes I enjoy watching the local Catholic TV station. They have very interesting and intelligent discussions. (;p)

Hoping the best for you...

that's no longer in basic terms the epitome of intellectually laziness, yet intellectually cheating as properly. the undeniable fact which you do no longer think of they're diverse, or do no longer think of they must be considered as diverse, would not replace the undeniable fact that atheists ARE diverse from theists in many procedures. they're diverse from Buddhists. Christians are diverse from Muslims. in the event that they weren't, they'd not be killing one yet another on a daily basis. people who think of rationally do no longer see issues the way they decide for to make certain them, they see issues the way they are genuinely. fairly some creatures have 2 eyes, a nostril and a mouth, yet there are nevertheless suitable dissimilarities between them.

I think they would all bother me, Jesus says that if anyone doesn't believe in Him, they don't believe in the One who sent Him either. I don't believe in the way the Catholics practice with their confessing, and the way they worship Mary so much. Jews don't believe that Jesus is who He says He is. The others are just too different, they don't acknowledge Jesus as God.
