Because the game is incredibly complex. To win you need to have a natural skill, then you need to study the game for years to become a good player. As the saying goes, it takes a few minutes to learn and a life time to master.

Your question is like asking, why can't I birdie every hole in golf?

Read some books, study, practice. Like any skill worth having it does not come overnight.

Good luck!

You most likely don't have a full understanding of pot odds, you aren't dropping hands when you should, or you're playing way too many hands. those are the three biggest reasons people don't win. if I were you, ( and I was at one time), play premium hands only, ( AA, KK...) unless you're the big blind, and its cheap. also, don't be afraid to throw away a K 10 in the small blind if there are 2 or 3 checks to you, or even one raise. You may catch the 10, or even the king, but a raise usually indicates someone has a higher kicker. P.S., don't play low pockets pairs after the flop if there are more than one over card..., you'll stay out of trouble that way.....hope that helps

Poker is like any other game, you have to figure out what you possibly have a chance at getting. I would watch first and see how other people bet/win.
