my room now is purpleish/blue and it has a wallpaper border of matching colored flowers.my bedding matches and the sheets,skirt,and pillows are white.my head board is white. my parents wont let me re-do it because they said that i should be happy with what i have. i also want to re-paint it. i'm 14, a freshman in HS, and we are building a lake house , so there would be a tight budget.
how/where could i go for ideas
yet alone convince them for me to be able to re-decorate my room?

Yeah, the only way is to convince them that you are able to do the work and they don't need to worry . . .
Maybe you have a boyfriend as a helping hand who has some experience ? Main thing is the WORK, not the costs of material
Talk with your parents, talk, talk, convince them. Show them that YOU are the right one to come up with this task.

Have a garage sale. Get a job doing something you are willing to do. ie...I can run errands, I can wash dishes, I can mow lawns - put up a flier, babysit, sell old stuff on ebay including old bed frame and dresser (you'd be suprised by the stuff people are willing to buy there!), any of this with Mom & Dads approval, of course.
after you make a little money take this to Mom & Dad and ask if you pay, will they mind if you re-decorate your room? It shows responsibility and how bad you want this.

You can find paint from the back rooms of paint stores. Look for semi gloss. It wipes up cleans nice. Sometimes people ask for/order a paint and cant/ dont use it. ask the store manager. sometimes you can find great deals just shopping the back rooms.
Get your girlfriends together, have a paint party. Have each girl tell you how they would decorate it cheeply. Take notes, your friends will have oodles of ideas on how and WHERE to get stuff cheep.
My daughter wanted speific items. Her friends sugested shopping goodwill and a seconds shop in a college town near by. Wow she hit the jackpot on items she wanted. she sold her head board, dresser, mirror. all kinds of extra stuff around the house on ebay. I was impressed, she figured in the shipping and a base price to everything. She did it on her own! :)

If you are going to have a room in the Lake house, why not do what you want there? You will not have to make a decision. Any way, being 14, all that trimming, painting, cleaning is allot of work,and will be expensive.

well maybe you can change the bedding to not match if there's paint under the border you can peel that off...just accessorize with cool stuff...use pillows...like throw pillows....my room is pink and green and i just changed the curtains and bedding so now it's a lot cooler and when you turn 15 you could also get a job and pay for it yourself

you have to do it yourself...(i assume you are used to having people do it for you)
so, suck it up and:
1. scrape the wallpaper off
2. buy some "seconds" paint from a hardware store and paint
3. go on ebay for a cheap (but cute) bed set
if you want it enough...you can do it...
