This is far too low, your body will start to close down. By rights your current calorie intake means you should not be exercising at all but just lying in bed all day trying to conserve energy. Your muscles will waste even though you are exercising because that is what goes first when trying to loose weight too fast. You will also notice pain in the muscles even when at rest this is because they are wasting. Exercise is only good if you are eating enough to feed the muscles. You will end up with flabby skin instead of muscles if you continue this way.

You should not try to loose more than 1 - 2 lb a week. Believe it or not you can eat much more as long as it is sensible food and your body will loose weight quicker.

If you continue on so few calories what will happen is that your body will get so used to the 300 calories that the minute you stop the weight will start piling on again. This is because the body realises it is being starved and as soon as it can it grabs back all the calories to start building up fat again, because it cannot manage without some fat. It basically says to itself - here goes I'll lay down even more this time in case the famine starts again, and it doesnt stop. It becomes a never ending spiral, you keep trying and the body keeps fighting you. Each time you stop dieting the body puts on more weight than before.

First you need to stop the dieting and start eating sensibly, plenty of fruit and veg and protein and healthy high fibre carbs as well as some good fats (fish oils). You should check what your body weight is on a BMI (Body Mass Index) calculator - to see how healthy your weight is at present.

Here is one for you to try.

NO you don't, you will only put back on all the weight you lost & a load more as soon as you stop your 300 calories a day.

Please reconsider this plan as you risk passing out/fainting which, if driving, could have very serious consequences.

I can't imagine what is happening in a week that makes you feel you need to take this drastic action - whatever it is please remember that there are so many people in the world who don't judge people on appearances & will be much more interested in whether you are a nice, intelligent person & good company than if you're a stone lighter.

If you want to lose weight you really should look to do it 2-3lb a week, this way you will stand a much better chance of keeping it off

No matter how much overweight you may be, 300 calories is far too little. it is not even enough to give you the energy requirement for your 4 mile daily walk/run. you need an intake of at least 1200 per day. Starving yourself doesn't lose weight, as your body reacts by slowing the metabolism, as there is little food, and then what you eat will be continually stored as fat. You need to balance your intake and output. Eat properly, drink water, but after meals and not during, exercise enough to burn what you have eaten.

DON'T even think about it. Life is too short. The best way to loose weight is gradually and by eating a sensible, well balanced diet. The only long term way to loose weight and maintain that loss is to change your eating habits and possibly your lifestyle; and that doesn't happen in one week. Think again and forget this unreal target whatever the pressure to achieve this drastic loss.

If you only eat 300 calories a day, you probably won't be alive in a week to see the results. No, seriously though, it is NOT HEALTHY to cut your calories that much. Your body will go into starvation mode and likely go into ketosis.

If you eat only 300 calories a day, you will probably gain weight rather than lose it. Your body will retain every single fat cell it possesses because it thinks (and rightly so) that it is being starved. You will only lose water and become dehydrated - and that will just be the start of your problems. Don't be so stupid.

bizarre & stupid all at once!

however, if you're determined to do this then that's your issue but bear in mind that when you resume your 'normal' diet you will prob put more than a stone back on & very quickly too.

basically what you are doing is slowing your metabolism right down so that you can survive on your measly calorific intake. Once that's back to 'normal', your metabolism will stay slow & sluggish, hence why you will become heavier etc.

Maybe your question should be about why you feel the need to do this..............??

Get a grip!

please don't try to lose that amount of weight in such a short time!!!! 300 calories a day is not enough for anyone. Besides whats an extra stone??? There are ways to appear to have lost weight, posture, clothing etc

It can be done, just simply do not eat anything for 1 week. Other than perhaps a few natural yoghurts. I did it myself once, not intentionally though, I was ill with pneumonia, but I still lost a stone in 1 week.
