It goes both ways, you know: converts and enemies both increase simultaneously (though at different rates, of course).

The increased attention and publicity (whether positive or negative) given to Islam (or any other religion) yields a natural interest in learning more about it. More people will hate Islam and more people will like it, thus the "more converts" is really just the "positive" manifestation of an increased polarization of feelings about Islam. If you look closer, you'll also notice a lot of people with really negative feelings toward Islam too.

On the other hand, if by "attack Islam," there is any implication of the current US military prosecution of Al Qaida terrorists, Hamas terrorists, and Hezbollah terrorists, then I believe that such does Islam a great evil by putting it in the militant extremist camp. The US president is doing his best to keep mainstream Islam separate from militant Islamic extremist terrorists, so as to avoid collateral damage from the American rage concerning the 9/11 terrorists attacks on US soil. This is a deliberate effort to protect mainstream Islam, because it seems that they will not protect themselves by denouncing those terrorist attacks unconditionally, completely, and frequently.

Also, I haven't seen any study on the subject, but if someone wants to "show" that, I'm sure the statistics could be manipulated in that way. Statistics only show the picture that you want to see, and that doesn't impress me at all.

So yes, more people convert, and more people hate. It goes both ways.

God is the one that lead these people to the right path. Sometimes we see things as calamities when good things actually come from it. Allah knows why He let these men do that on 9/11 or why He lets people attack Islam. His wisdom is more then ours. Maybe that was the reason to get people to really look at Islam. Allah knows.

People who convert to Islam do so because they see benfit in it, not because others attack the religion...

I've noticed Islam bashing has fashionable in the world. it is encouraged, while Jew bashing is suppressed. this bashing is headed by Hindus and Zionists. there is a Hindu on this forum his name is Nick L. he is the worst. just go to his questions and you will see the hatred he has for Muslims and Islam. but then he's a cow worshiper. don't get your hopes high i'm not a muslim but i sympathise with them because they are getting a rough deal at the moment

I find it interesting that people are rejecting Christ, some reversion, If you guys are rejecting Christ, you never knew Him at all in the first place!
