It seems like you can't ask a general question without people assuming you're talking about yourself, even when you say "I'm not talking about myself?" It is really that hard to read the entire question?

Many times people get a false impression on first glancing at the question and it can be hard to let go of that preconception. It seems to happen often with pregnancy questions when people assume that a pregnancy is either wanted or unwanted depending on their own situation.

Since people answering your questions don't know you, they assume you are talking about yourself even if you say you're not. This is a known fact, that a lot of people say, not me, its about someone else to hide the fact that it is about them. People have been doing this forever. You can't stop it, its a fact of life. Also people are forced to "jump to conclusions" on some questions because they are given limited information about your issue. Thats just the truth.

This is the way the world works, it's not just like this on the internet. People judge others in the real world as well.
But some people come on here asking some stupid *** questions or are just being stupid to gain attention. Then there are others who are better then everyone and have a comment about everything whether they know the answer or not.

well you cant stop people from jumping to conclusions. a lot of misguided teens are on this site and some people are just really trying to lead them in the right direction. maybe they remember when they had the problem you were asking about themselves and they would like to offer an online shoulder to lean on.

It's the only exercise we get! Jumping to conclusions, pushing our luck and running the lives of others.

well, probably because even if we say that a question isn't about yourself, it still really is, in some fundamental way. otherwise, why would you ask it?
also, we jump to conclusions because that is what human beings do. we are good at it.
