Bleeding is simply oozing of blood, whether little or lot, whereas virginity is to do with not having carnal knowledge of intercourse beforehand. These are not 100% correlated. A virgin may not bleed at first intercourse, whereas a non-virgin may bleed at a second or later intercourse. Basically, it is the tissue of hymen that, when ruptured during intromission of any object (penis, dildo, etc.), lets blood flow. Sometimes, it just stretches and lets the penis in without getting ruptured. It might have happened in your girlfriend's case. Or, may be God didn't gift her a hymen; should you blame her for that--after all, there are several other woman who are, as per medical science, born without the tissue. Or, may be she was born with one, but lost it unconsciously somehow over the years, e.g. I have heard that cycling, gymnastics, etc. can lead to the breaking of the so-called virginity symbol. If neither of the above happened, then may be she is lying, but what is the use of doubting her? After all, isn't love more than virginity? And if she did lie, then it is you, not she, who is at fault, because you did not try to understand her, and make her feel comfortable enough to share her feelings/thoughts/secrets with you. I have several chatfriends (women) who claim that they bled during a second time because the penis was too big or that they weren't that lubricated the second time with the juices. Going by their versions (which must be true because of the rapport I have with them, besides the fact that we are too distant from/anonymous to each other), as well as what I have read in hundreds of articles on this topic of medical science, I can assure you that the best decision for you to take is not to ask a Yahoo Answers member, or anyone else except your girlfriend, and assure her and win her trust and then let her tell you any secrets, if any, that she might be having. And isn't that what you are really looking for--her trust, her love and herself? Wish you all the best of luck.

No they don't. Also, she can be a virgin and already have her hymen broken (the piece that might cause her to bleed). Girls who are very active in sports, horseback riding and such can break their hymen accidentally and never know it. Also, an accident will break it. It's not a big deal - don't doubt her for it.

I believe that some girls who are still virgins but don't bleed during there first intercourse could have had there hymen broken during any kind of hard physical activities,,,,like sports or some kind of accident....

The only reason I can think of for bleeding would be if the hymen tore.

not all girls bleed their first time, sometimes they can injure themselves when they're little, and the hymen may break, and so when they have sex for the first time they don't bleed. or some girls just naturally don't have a hymen.
