hmmmm
cat litter casserole
1 cup buisquick baking mix
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 lb ground beef, or sausage
to make litter:
2 cups long grain rice
3 3/4 cup water
2 tsp salt
2 tbsp butter
tools you will need:
large mixing bowl
rectangular baking pan
deep sauce pan with lid
fork
paper towels
large spoon
1. to make dumps: prehead oven to 350degrees
mix together buisquick shredded cheese and ground meat into large bowl using hands. Mold pieces of this mixture into various sizes looking like cat dump.
2 place dumps so they dont touch eachother in an ungreased rectangular baking pan. bake dumps at 350degrees until brown and firm, and slightly crusty, about 20 minutes.
3 while the meat cooks, put all 4 litter ingrediants into a large sauce pan. then heat on high until water cmes to a boil. stir then cover and turn heat to low, simmer without lifting lid for 20minutes.
4remove saucepan from stove and carefullu lift off the cover. break apart or "FLUFF" the rice with a fork, and set pan aside.
5 when dumps are done, carefully transfer them onto paper towels to drain.
spoon the rice and the dumps into now empty baking dish leaving some dumps partially uncovered, the way kitty does it when she is in a hurry HAHAH!
also, you can substitue the buisquick with any baking mix and the long grain rice to a flavored rice, of your choice.

appetizers to go with crackers:
Cheese Pumpkins-
8 tablespoons smoked Cheddar cold pack cheese food (from 8-oz container), well chilled
2 teaspoons finely chopped peanuts
4 butter-flavored pretzel spindles or sticks, broken in half
16 tiny pieces fresh parsley leaves
1 . Line small serving plate with waxed paper. Roll each level tablespoon cold pack cheese food into a ball; place on waxed paper-lined serving plate. Refrigerate 10 to 15 minutes for easier handling.
2 . With end of toothpick, draw ridges around balls to resemble pumpkins. Dip bottoms of cheese balls in chopped peanuts.
3 . Just before serving, insert pretzel halves into cheese balls for pumpkin stems. Decorate with parsley for leaves. Store in refrigerator.
---------------------------------------
Main Course:
Worms For Brains Spaghetti-
8-10 sweet orange peppers
1 package 16 ounce spaghetti
1 pound ground beef
1 jar 26 ounce spaghetti sauce
Cut tops of peppers, and take out seeds and membranes, cut a jack o lantern face in each one...set aside.
Cook spaghetti according to pkg., meanwhile, cook ground beef until no longer pink. Drain spaghetti and add to beef, stir in sauce.Heat through. Spoon into peppers and leave a little hanging out the top, replace the tops onto peppers
------------------------------------
side dish:
Savory Brain Shrimp Bread-
1 (10 3/4-ounce) can cream of mushroom soup
8 ounces Philadelphia cream cheese, softened
1 (.25-ounce) envelope unflavored gelatin, softened in 1/4 cup water
1 bunch green onions, chopped
3 pounds cooked shrimp, coarsely chopped
(or 1 pound crab meat)
1 cup mayonnaise
1 Tablespoon lemon juice
Tabasco or creole seasoning to taste
Heat soup, undiluted, and mix in the cream cheese. Stir in softened gelatin and blend well. Fold in remaining ingredients and pour into a lightly-oiled mold. Chill until firm and serve with your favorite crackers.
(I originally found this recipe for MardiGras 2000, which was quite yummy. When I got a brain mold for my birthday - can you tell my friends know I love Halloween? - I started thinking of what I could use for making a brain. Since the brain mold is only about 3 cups, I halved this recipe except for the amount of gelatin, left out the green onions, and finely chopped the shrimp into more of a paste for the sake of making it look more smooth-textured like a real brain.)
---------------------------------
You can also make any soup or stew and just add plastic spiders and eyeballs and such before you spoon it into the bowl.

Keep a smaller water glass, which you must refill often, instead of a sizable water bottle on your table.
