Yes they were both fair but firm. And I could talk to either of them about absolutely anything. Best parents anyone could have had!

I liked my Dad more because he used to let me get away with murder and my Mum was really strict and would get really annoyed with me which I always thought was for no reason. It was strange though because when I was a teenager and did wrong I would listen to my Mum and fear doing things wrong but I thought my Dad was a soft touch and didn't listen to a word he said because I had the attitude, "whats the worst he can do", so in a strange sort of way I had respect for my Mum. Now I am older and have stopped being a moody teenager I love them both equally and could not be without either of them although sadly they are not together anymore. I respect them both for the roles they adopted when I was younger as now I am a Mum I realise just how hard it is and am immensely grateful.

As a child I liked Mum more. Dad was too scary. Mum was soft and Dad was strict.

Then, when I got older and left home I realised that Dad loved us just as much as Mum. When I was 19, and my car broke down at 3.00am he came out to where I was on his motor bike and walked me home even though he had to be up at 5.30am to go to work (There are a load more examples). I realised that Dad was hard on the outside but very soft and sensitive on the inside. Then I felt this overwhelming love for him which made up for all those years when I didn't understand him.

Mum died last year, and Dad took it hard. He's always been the strong silent type. A big tough man. Never crying! But in the last year he's cried so much. He's lost without Mum, and my heart breaks every time I speak to him.

Think it varies from person to person. One parent will always take the role of being more strict toward their children whereas the other will be the 'fun' mum/dad (the one you go to when you want something lol) ;)

I Love both my parents but if it comes to who I would rather spend more time with it would probably be my dad. My mom is a very pessimistic person she always tends to see the negative on everything. While my dad is the opposite.

I guess I loved them both foe different reasons or at different stages of my life. But indistinctly I would still run to my mum's arms or seek comfort from her when I am upset.

My Dad. My parents got divorced when i was little and i lived with my Mom - so she was the one to give me hassle and discipline me. My Dad just used to have me at weekends and we'd go out and have fun!!
