Washing your face before you go to bed and when you wake up will keep your skin clean. You can even wash it more if you like.
Try scrubs/lotions or facial masks to make your skin more clean.
As for acne: try creams or using a warm washcloth to help the zit come to a head and heal properly.

I would try plain dove soap with warm water twice a day. Then I would apply Neutrogena on the spot acne treatment (benzoyl peroxide) afterwards. This works for a quick fix, the dove soap will moisturize and calm the redness in your skin and the benzoyl peroxide will help with the acne. If your skin is dry get the OLAY sensitive skin moisturizer. It has no "girly" smell I promise. My husband uses it :oP... dry skin causes acne, I found this out when I went to my skin doctor. For a long term fix I would see a dermatologist, they can help diagnose the type of acne you have and prescribe something more specific for it.

To eat lots of fruit and vegetables. Drink lots of water.
Wash and cleanse every day, using a product specially designed to get rid of acne. Also use a spot stick for the bigger ones.
Get your skin out into the sunshine, a bit difficult this time of year, I know!

My son has acne and has done all the above for about 6 months, his sports are getting better but he is 'prone' to them so will suffer with them however hard he tries fo get rid of them.

1. any teatment you do will take at least 2 weeks to work.
dont use very harse produts it drys the skin which blocks more pores making the problem worse and can causes hypersenitivity which i know by experance.
if you have only mild-mid acne try these steps

morning
wash using a mild clenser with salytic acid (i hope i spelt it right) make sure you wash all off after as if you will dry the skin if left on blocking pores causing worse acne.

use a cold pack on affected areas it brings down swelling around spots and pores and is as good if not better then any toner it also improves circalation.

mosteriser never forget this as half the problem with acne is dry skin blocking pores which can trap oil and nateral bateria that is on everyones skin trive in this block pore causing spots.

At night do the same but after ice pack part put on a produt with b.p in (i'll add the full name in when i find it) it can only be gotten in chemests and is the only product that can kill the this bacteria.

good tips that will also help.
dont touch your face
never speeze spots even if you can't see it each time you squeze you are scaring the skin enlarging pores making the problem worse and will be noticed when you are older.
clean all makeup bruches once a week.
dont put on makeup with unwashed hands.
if you cant do your face in the morning thats fine but no matter how tired you are at night do the routine.
drink lots of water.
fish, nuts, fruit ect.
if you do sport or any seaty activity its best to wash as when you do sports you produse testosrene in sweat which when it comes in conact with oil glands in pores can cause allergic like reaction where baceria can trive
if it dosent improve in 2 weeks its time to see a doctour but they mostly will put you on the pill if your a girl.
or put you on a couse of anti-byotics.

myts about acne.

choclate dos not cause acne.
eating fried foods dos not cause acne (but touching your face afer eating will)
acne is not caused by dirt on the face.

Well, there are a number of things that could be causing your skin to blemish. But don't listen to people telling you to wash your face alot. It won't work. And don't try using too many products on your face at once! It might make it worse. Here's a couple tricks and products you can try.

-Changing your diet. Eating healthier and drinking a lot of water will help your complexion.

-Excersise. Sweating helps clean out your pores. But remember to wash your face afterwards!

-Proactive. I know you've seen the commertials on T.V. It might work for you.

You can try this also, this worked for me! Go to a dermatologist and ask them about doxycycline pills, you take them twice a day, and after about a month you won't have one blemish on your face! It really does work!

the best way to get rid of acne is to have a 3 step system that includes a cleanser, toner, and moisturizer. your could try proactive which work excellently or if not you could try biore or clinque they work just as good as proactive but for alot less. oh and avoid popping your acne, they just come back later on and you give yourself scars
