I just started taking cymbalta.?

Question

I am feeling a little sleepy and dizzy. Should I be worried or is this normal? I thought that this med was suppose to help me get up and going but i am just still laying around. thanks

What ever your symptoms try to wait it out. The Cymbalta will eventually even out in your system. It is the best medication I have ever been on, it just takes a while to get it regulated.

I'm on cymbalta as well, 60 mgs 2x a day and I don't get dizzy, but sometimes sleepy ..but I believed it to be caused from other sources or causes. I think the side effects say that the symptoms that you have are possibly expected. Cymbalta has helped me with depression, sleeping, and some help with back pain quite a bit. Tell you doctor about your symptoms , you might need a lower dose,,you didn't say how much you were taking or how often.

In clinical studies for Cymbalta used for depression, the most common side effect was nausea. For most people, the nausea was mild to moderate, and usually subsided within one to two weeks.

Other most common side effects included

Fatigue

Dry mouth
Constipation
Decreased appetite

Sleepiness
Increased sweating


Most people were not bothered enough by nausea or these side effects to stop taking Cymbalta.

Your doctor may periodically check your blood pressure while you are taking Cymbalta. You should not stop taking Cymbalta without talking to your doctor.

What should I avoid while taking Cymbalta?

Avoid drinking alcohol. It may increase your risk of liver damage.
Ask your doctor before taking a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) for pain, arthritis, fever, or swelling. ok. at the starting up Cymbalta is the WORST and maximum negative antidepressant each and every INVENTED. i develop into on it for melancholy/rigidity. and thanks to Cymbalta (and it develop into actually the poison.. With any mood altering drug, it takes time to build up in your system. Depending on the drug, it can take up to 2 weeks to 30 days to get the full affect. The sleepiness and dizziness are common side effects. Give it time and if it becomes bothersome, consult your Dr. Hope things get better for you soon.

It takes time for your body to adjust to the new drug. give it a chance for 3 weeks to a month. I would tell your Dr. about it asap however.
