Could mean a blood vessel is ruptured (that's serious) or something as minor as slightly nicking your throat with a fingernail. Seeing blood is the immediate sign to go to a physician.

you've probably got an ulcer in your stomach or esophagus. If it is in your esophagus, this is VERY DANGEROUS. go to your ER immediately; your esophagus has many blood vessels surrounding it and because they are so deep and awkwardly positioned, it's very very hard to stop the bleeding if insult (purging) is consistantly repeated. You're also in danger of aquiring Barrett's esophagus, when the lining of your esophagus changes; this can be from heartburn (GERD) but also from purging, since it's the same acid from your stomach, doing the exact same damage.

Oh, my God STOP doing this. You probably damaged something like your stomach ,like ripping it while purging, the straining, i know this cause i use to do this and also you could have a blood clot one of my close friends was purging cause a blood clot and killed her. SO I SUGGEST YOU GUIT PURGING!!!!!!!

It means stop purging, you're bleeding somewhere. Don't be violent to yourself.

Sounds like some type of internal injury to me. You know that's not normal and it has to come from your throat, lungs or stomach. It is not a good thing. Check with your doctor or local health department.

if you are actually purging on purpose you need to go to a doctor right away and get help for your bulimia! it means your stomach acid is eating away at your esophagus!

It means 1 you one have an ulcer or 2 you are straining to much and busting minor vessels in your throat or stomach .
