Also, I have lost a lot of weight drinking a cup or two of water before I eat. The water helps fill you up.

Try eating on smaller plates. Also, stay away from fried foods. :) and fast food. Those are sure ways to gain weight.

Oooh, if you like video games, then I suggest buying Dance Dance Revolution and a dance pad. The video game helps you keep track of how many calories you are burning. It also tells you how many miles you have ran (danced), laps you swim, etc... It helped me lose weight! Some people lose patience with the game, but I don't see how. So, if you are looking for a fun alternative to losing weight, then I suggest this.

There is a lot of info out there.. it's all poop. All those special diets are stupid.

Just do this: whatever you are eating now, count the calories you eat averagely in a day. Cut 500 from that number and start eating that much every day. That'll make you lose a pound per week from dieting alone.

As far as exercise, do something that gets your heart rate up. Do it 3-5 times a week for 15-30 mins a day. You should lose another pound or two from exercise.

If you cut back on your food (in moderation) and workout, you lose weight. It's simple. No fancy diets necessary. You can lose 1-3 lbs a week if you follow through.

Keep a journal like fitday.com to make sure you are doing it right.

Yes, there is a lot of information out there and much of it is VERY biased because usually they are looking to sell you something with the information. For some unbiased information you could take a nutrition class, or just buy a book which is designed for teaching a nutrition class and learn about nutrition. When it comes to exercise, you need to talk to your doctor about that. Once he/she clears you for exercise, start out doing what you can do, and build up to a higher level. Once you feel that you've hit a plateau, push yourself further (past your comfort zone), that is the only way to lose weight.

Good for you for trying to sort out the mess and not just giving up because it seems difficult. Definitely get the facts about nutrition and exercise and don't buy into any of the fad diets or other crazes... they are fleeting and some are harmful to your health.

The best thing I have tried, and believe me I have tried them all, from Atkins to weight watchers, is what I am doing now! I just eat a well balanced diet, heavy on the fruit and veggies, and NO white refined sugar or flour. I eat all the fruit and veggies I want and limit everything else, you know small portions. And I started walking and I bought a bean, the easiest piecce of excersize equipment I have ever used. I am not at all the type of person who likes to work out, I am a bonafide couch potatoe! But I really love my bean and I use it everyday!
I don't feel like I am cheating myself, cause I eat whatever I want, even icecream, sugar free of course, and it really is working, and I feel great!

assuming you are wanting to lose weight?...ok...everyone is low carb, low calorie...etc,etc,etc.....I had kids, gained a bunch of weight...what to do to lose it...saw all kinds of shows, and commercials on how to lose it....and keep it off....but there was no way I could afford those programs....I thought, a tablespoon of raisins has zero Fat grams, yet calories...hmm...so, I started counting the fat grams, and not the calories....there was a park so to speak, that had a walking trail, that was really just a circle, like a skating rink, only on a larger scale. you didn't have to wonder off in the woods for miles, which would be unsafe. So, I read everything I was going to eat, all the nutritional info. on the package(s), and looked at what the fat grams were. Stayed under 28 fat grams a day, and MADE myself go to that park and walk not slow, not fast, in between, every chance I could...You would not believe how fast the fat came off of me...I NEVER thought I could look like my old self again..And, in no time, I had ankles, and elbows again....I didn't have to power house some excercise activity, that left me exhausted, or buy meals...I just read everything I bought to eat, and had a family with 3 little kids at the time....You have to want to do it for you, First!!!...to make you feel comfortable with yourself....not for anyone else, those compliments will come but that's not why you did it...The fat just melted off....and it was a quiet time to just walk around..No job responsibilities,no mommy land, nothing...just enjoying doing for yourself..and that is so cool...sort of takes you back to the girl you are, and that makes you feel good about yourself...and everyone else benifits if momma is happy...

You can just walk around your block and that is excersing. You need to move your body in some way. How about dancing in place? Or jogging in place? Diets are a bunch of hooey. The bottom line is this: everyone knows what makes you gain weight: not eating what your supposed to. Why do we need a "diet" to tell you what to eat and what not to eat? If you have a pizza and a salad, duh, the salad is the better choice. It's all about choice and WANTING it. If you want it bad enough, you will do what it takes, which is not eating the stuff bad for you.

I agree with starting with a professional's help. A dietician and a personal trainer can lead you on the right path. I felt like you a not too long ago. I joined Bally's and got a personal trainer (I absolutely love her!) and I have lost about 5% body fat so far and I have a much higher endurance level.

Everyone thinks they are a guru in this area. Find a very good trustworthy, knowledgeable, certified trainer. Choose by either by word of mouth or from experiences of others. Also look at how they themselves take care of their bodies. Too many preach what they lack to practice.Too many unlicensed individuals will look to give you an answer but you must find something that works for YOU NOT THEM,Ok?

Many blessings in finding what you need
