I wanted the same thing a year ago. I have naturally dark red hair. It took three sessions with a professional colorist over the course of six weeks to get it platinum blonde. If I had tried to do it in one session all by myself (and I have a lot of coloring experience), one of two things would have happened: I would have ended up with orange hair, or I would have bleached until my hair literally broke. Leave platinum to the professionals.

First things first
What color is your hair naturally? Have a hair dresser do a strand test to determine if your hair can withstand bleaching enough to remove the color pigment to white, with out breaking off or turning to straw. Your may be able to do it and require toner to get the white color you desire. Do consult a hair dresser to do this or you could end up with burnt scalp and hair, fry'd hair, Orange hair, or who knows what on your head.
