Jesus also said in Luke chapter 6 vs 24, "Woe to you who are rich for you have your reward." We're all human and err but we as Christains should be striving to keep our focus more on him and spiritual things and less on money and things of this world.

I beleive it goes,it would be easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than a rich man to enter heaven. If a man is all about his money,he will not have time for learning about heaven and what it has to offer.

Antonioav,

You have it backwards... Jesus said that it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle then for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven.

Basically this means that people try think that things will get them into heaven, when it is faith alone in Christ that will get them there. It doesn't matter what you have, what matters is what you do with Jesus.

God Bless you.

Robin

No that is not what he said! It is more likely for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to go to heaven!
It is not money or good works that get you into heaven, but faith alone. Jesus paid the price, he was the sacrifice, His blood covered our sin. Accepting the free gift of Christ is the only way to get into heaven.

I believe it goes like this: its easier for a camel to go thru the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter heaven...And "The eye of the needle" was a very low gate into Jerusalem....

Jesus said it's easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than it is for a rich man to enter Heaven. He never said it was impossible, he's saying the rich have to try harder than everyone else.

it would be easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than a rich man to enter heaven. I think it has to do w/ the rich man's values, and to answer your question, you just don't give a damn about the verse, I guess becoming rich is your top priority.

Mark 10:25
It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God."

It is not having money but the LOVE of money that is the root of all evil. Where it says that, he means the ones who are so into being rich they lose focus on Him.At least this is what I think. He wants us to prosper mostly in him. Not material stuff.

You have twisted the quote entirely. Jesus said it was easier for a camel to go through the needle's eye (a special gate at large cities, a security measure) than it was for a rich man to go to heaven. The camel can be made to humble itself (kneel). Rich people usually don't humble themselves.

Perhaps you never understood the quote?

i think first it was Jesus said, first a camel goes through the eye of a needle before a rich man enters heaven as he also said to a man you obey all my commandments but have one flaw ...go home and give away all your money then come back and follow me . The wealthy have horded their wealth rather than help there fellow man in need thus the two sins of pride and greed

I have heard it as,''It is harder for a rich man to get into heaven than it is for a camel to go thru the eye of a needle''. It means that often a rich man becomes so involved in getting richer and richer, he forgets to give to the poor, and to others who need help. He forgets all things but his money.
