Companies put aside scholarship money for African-American, Native American, Hispanic, and Asian-Americans to have a good education in "the land of the free." The way I see it, Causcasians always had it better than any race. Minorities go through Hell and back and up and beyond just to get ahead in this world. There are some caucasians that has it easier than the other races and most of the families have "old money." Meaning these people were rich for decades and the money past from one generation to another. Minorities do not have "old money" families that I know of and if companies like Chevrolet and Ford team up with the United ***** College Fund then you need to take it up with those companies. There are a lot of underpriviledged students whose parents are not rich. They need extra help. Instead of hating, why don't you go and spend time with the organization. People who don't have knowledge about something are the ones that come up with ignorant excuses. I never had to apply to the UNCF to get my education, but I am glad that it does exist and that someone will have a chance to live a good life by getting a good education . Most of the responses sounds like a teacher I had a problem with recently because I posted scholarships for minorites. I did post some general public scholarships, but let's face it...some Caucasians can get money for education with a snap of a finger where others get turned down at the start. Think outside the box.

faculties have been re-segregating for the previous dozen years, so as that the proportion of Black pupils in majority-white faculties has decreased to a point below in any year via fact that 1968. 2 million pupils attend those “apartheid faculties” (faculties the place the pupil physique is greater suitable than ninety 9 % non-white). 3-quarters of Black and Latino pupils attend faculties that are predominantly minority. The 4 maximum segregated states are ny, Michigan, Illinois and California. In California and ny, in basic terms one Black pupil in seven is going to a predominantly white college. the money is going to the white faculties and the desires are no longer met on the others. it is un-equivalent instructing. it is racist instructing. below those circumstances it is authentic from a factor of reason and a perspective of morality to have the United ***** college Fund in place so as that the few pupils who do stay to tell the story the racist equipment could be taken care of extremely on the college point.

No its not racist just as they say they give aid to "minorities" now from what I understand in this good old usa (being sarcastic) looking down my list of minority races in the usa.....hmmm dont see caucasions. Look if u want money there are plenty of other ways to obtain it without having to pay someone back. look for grants or scholarships in your type of interest, but dont try to criticize a organization because they want to see others races have a decent education.

No, that's just the ways funds and stipends generally work - they pretty much all have some sort of criteria for who their money is meant to go to. Other funds and stipends might give to DAR descendants, students in specific fields of study, someone who's done a lot of community volunteer work, someone of Scandinavian descent, someone from a specific town, someone with a high GPA, someone who is episcopalian etc.

No it does not mean that the organization is racist. It simply means that they believe in uplifting a race, our race as we have been through hell and back in this country. It means that they believe in educating their own especially considering there are countless African-Americans who are unable to go to college due to monetary circumstances and an overall lack of resources within a family, community and government.

Well....I agree with the other poster, that it's uplifting to a race that has been beaten down. I also feel that if white people want to start one for white people, they should be able to as well. I hate all of it, and think we all need to focus much less on race.

NO! How many times do I have to tell people this.
It is only racist or discriminatory if it unequitable for black people.
If it hurts only white people it is called affirmative action. Actually it can hurt any ethnic group, as long as it doesn't hurt black people.
(hopefully you sense my sarcasm, but I wanted to make sure that no one thought that I was serious. most affirmative action programs don't even help native Americans, and the invaders tried to commit genocide against them!)
