It's to scare people into not being jerks
There isn't really a "hell" Why would someone, anyone, allow people to be punished with an eternity of the worst suffering ever for doing something in life even if it is very very wrong. These people were just misguided

The classic idea of hell is a place of torment and fire. But the Bible says that God made us in his image, and we need him. I imagine (and I think it is stated somewhere in the Bible) that hell is a place where God does not exist. We would go there for rejecting him. It is our choice, given to us by him. He does not send us there; we choose to be away from him.

The whle beauty of it is that the choice he gave us makes this whole idea of life and existance have a reason. He wants us to CHOOSE to worship and love him, rather than simply creating us to do so. It is more appreciated when your kids call you and thank you for something, rather than you having to ask them to call their other parent and thank them as a favor to you, isn't it?

God does not send anyone to hell, They make that choice themselves, by rejecting God's free gift of salvation. If you want to blame someone, place the blame where it belongs. with you.

Do you think that what Jesus went through for you,.. yes.. you.. was easy for Him? He was beaten beyond human recognition and took those beatings so you could have eternal life in heaven. That is unmeasurable love for you.

But you rejected that love, and refuse to accept that He died for you. So dont' blame God and don't blame Jesus. They both gave you a way out of hell, and you refused to take it.

God has rules, for whatever reason he chose.

Nobody can change it, so join or pay the consequences
