Wehave a ford 2005 ZXW (wagon) pretty good car, had a problem with the brake (fixed), the hatch (fixed) and a muffler weld (fixed) but no major problems. The resale really goes down for wagons, but the ZX3 and 5 are really good buys too. Get the warranty, for the love of god just in case. Ford has been known to produce quite a few lemons.

I have a 2003 Ford Focus (bought it in 2004). I also have had the ignition lock up, had to replace the stereo, and have had a problem with a solenoid transmission malfunctioning (3rd gear-twice within a year). As a matter fact, I am looking for a reason why this would happen in the first place, right now. They are cheap; however, remember one fact. You get what you pay for.

My friend has the ZX5 Model with the 2.3 Liter engine and it is great. It is very fun to drive and gets great gas mileage. On the other hand, I have a friend who has a Sedan and the radiator cracked on it and even after they fixed it, it still leaked fluid. The only thing I don't like about it is the depriciation.

My wife loves hers. Buy the extended warranty and you won't have to worry about anything bumper to bumper except for regular maintenance.
