I think we're more likely to think logically about someone else's problems. Or at least attempt to.
But when it comes to our own, we become emotionally involved so it becomes it harder to make a choice or act upon a decision.
An outside observer has the advantage of having the aerial view, which the person experiencing the problem hasn't but only the person experiencing the problem really knows what they are talking about/feeling. More than that, only they have the power to decide what they should do.
Apart from that, I think many who drops well-thought out advice has had an experience of their own to which they can relate to the question and these people speak out of experience. We feel for the people who ask the questions, thus we share our side of the story.
It's easy for people who are giving advice to give their opinions, but it still doesn't make it easy for the person himself. I think the people who are asking questions are either looking for affirmation /agreement for their actions or advice on a particular subject, or maybe even sympathy, understanding and care.
And I think for the people giving advice, it may just be that their words might convict themselves too.

Giving advice is way easier than taking your own or receiving it from someone else and taking. Like you say, we get nervous, some people just hate rejection and some people already know the answer but are just afraid to make the next step.

haha... exactly. I think people come on here to try to help people not make the same mistakes that we have when we were younger or in that same situation. I recognise so many of these questions from my own personal life.. The truth is relationships are brutal, and we always think that we know enough now that we can make the next one work.

We sometimes do not take our own advice, is because we do not want to face reality, a lot of time we are in denial, about the situation! Remember a old saying," we can give it, but can"t take it!"

i in lots of cases stick to my suggestion, some advices at the instant are not on conduct yet base on knoledge a pair of question. despite the fact that if and definitely some people do no longer stick to what they say. much less complicated pronounced than accomplished.

Because love is blind, I loved my wife and stayed with her even though I knew it was only a matter of time before it ended. Had I been on the outside and not emotionally involved I would have advised 'leave her now while you still have control'.

Some of us actually do have a good head on our shoulders, and actually have a pretty decent life.
Unfortunately, there are A LOT of idiots out there who just need a good kick to the head.

not true- i speak my mind- advise i give i would follow- given i had the experience that i have now- understand? the reason people ask is because they want to know if what they are thinking is the right thing to do, or perhaps they give advise they wish they would have followed.

It is hard to live by what you preach. Ideally we all want to do what we tell others and know it would be the best thing to do, b ut we can't get the nerve up to do it.
