What special practices do muslims follow during ramadan?

every night they go to a special prayer (it only takes place during ramadan) at their local mosque. they divide the whole quran up so they can read a section of it each night and finish it in 30 days.
also there is a night near the end when it is believed that anything you ask for with a pure intention will be granted to you, or you will get a better place in heaven if, for some reason, God decides not to let your wish come true.
muslims also give extra charity (since the reason they fast is to feel how the poor feel)
also, they try to go to the Kaaba to do "umra," which is a short version of Haj.
