He is a three year old Cocker Spaniel with somewhat of a sensitive stomach. He has gotten wet food for a few years now, but I don't know if I should keep him on it or not.

If by wet you mean canned food, it's not good for a dog's teeth, and if you read the label, you'll seeing you're paying for a high percentage of water, with not enough nutrition. A good quality dry dog food is best and if your dog has a sensitive stomach, you can choose something that suits him. The food can be chicken, beef, lamb, or duck based for instance, so you can find something that won't bother him.

I would go with dry food specially because he's a inside dog sometimes dogs have accidents and its real nasty cleaning after them when they eat wet food their poop is just very loose and it sticks to carpet and the floors. When you feed them hard dry food their poop smells a lot better and it doesnt stick to the floors incase of accidents. Specially since your dog has a sensitive stomach that will help. When I used to fee my puppy wet food he used to be the same way.

I myself don't recommend it. It makes their poop running and smellier. I would stick to dry dog food and go according the age appropriate bag. As for the sensitive stomach, I believe there is a dog food that is for older dogs, you can try that, and maybe add a bit of water, just enough to make it a bit moist then try weaning off the water and stick to the dry food. Who knows what is put in dog can food. Hope that works! Good luck to you and your dog.

1, if you give your dog wet food it will have the runs. that is because the body will need to ajust 2 wet food. well tou should try a mix of both. if you can't afford that then by a dry food called GRAVY TRAIN. you put food in his bowl, then add a little water, and there will be a gravy mixture.

Unless your vet recommends otherwise dogs generally do best on a high quality dry food.

wet or dry....my vet says it doesn't matter. Buy the higher end foods like nutro. make sure he has things to chew on like rawhide or greenies.
