So heres the deal. I like this guy whose name will remain unknown, but I think I like him a lot. He told my friend that hes not ready to date and thinks that I'm "hitting" on him. What should I do? Should I stop being so "flirty"?

Yes, stop hitting on this guy. He's not interested in you. You have to protect your self-esteem. You are coming off as needy. This guy will run to the first girl that plays hard to get. So try pulling away. If he comes around then you'll know that he's interested in you. When a guy says that they aren't ready for a relationship, what they are really saying is that they don't want to date you. Right not the only person that looks foolish is you. So stop.

Lay off for awhile, yes. You will just make him dislike you, or even hate you if you dont give him some room. Dont pay any attention to him, hardly even look at him if he speaks to you, and if you answer him, respond with an " Ok", "aha", and look away after. Make it seem like you have better things to do than to be with him. He will start to wonder what happened, he will think, why doesnt she flirt with me anymore? Doesnt she like me anymore? That should get him to pursue you, (if hes not gay, that is, sorry but its possible). If he does start to try and pursue you, dont jump at his first attempt. Try to be patient, and let him work on it. Sometimes the old adage about Playing Hard To GET, is tru, and it works. Do your best, I know its hard to not act interested in someone when you are.

He's suffering from male bigheadedness syndrome. Ignore him and act like he doesn't exist. Smile and laugh(make sure you do all of this in front of him). Chances are he'll be ready for a lot of dating with you once you look like you dont need him or maybe not, maybe he really truly isnt ready. But I have learned that a man is a confused creature and that when you ignore them and leave them alone, they get confused...because thats not what they really want. You can either play his game or not..ya know?

no, not really. i mean dont get up on him. but if hes not ready to date, think about him for a minute. when hes ready, you'll know. and if you stop acting as you always have, he may never like you. that happened to me once. i felt i needed to change my attitude toward this guy, but then found out he used to like me, then stopped liking me after i started acting different. so be careful.

Forget about him. From the looks of things,he's not interested in you if he has to tell your friend that "he's not ready to date" He's sending a message in the kindest way, press on and you will gwt hurt or insulted.

Yes! If he is really into you, he will make the first move. Don't sell yourself short....be hard to get! Good luck!
