Judging by your other questions you seem to be opinionated which is a very good quality to have.
Some people are not able to see the facts from the fiction because their opinions are clouding their judgement.
Personally, I do think that some men are brighter/smarter than some women, but equally I also think some women are brighter/smarter than some men.
And the evidence is there to say that up to the end of six form (and possibly through-out University too) girls and women do perform better academically. It only really seems to balance out once people are working.
Long live equality where men and women can both be equally as smart as each other.

Men are cleverer and smarter than women when it comes to some subjects, in general, like mathematics for example (see news article recently). However, the same applies the other way round, like in diplomacy, for example. I suppose a man gets the impression he is smarter than a woman because some women decide to portray themselves as being dumb. This kind of woman plays off being second to a man, for different reasons I imagine, but either way they project this stereotype. I suppose it is to feed a mans ego, and I guess in general, men do need a healthy ego (probably an alpha male thing).
Having said all that, I get the impression from some responses here that there are women who think they are smarter than men. I'm not condemning anyone here, I'm just answering the question as impartially as I can; but of course no-one can be truly impartial on this question, you are either a man or a woman, that kinda makes you biased!

Well if you think about it....he spent most of his time with his mother whilst growing up....she supported him, guided him, educated him. He can be forgiven for thinking he is smarter than a woman because mimicking his mother afforded him the confidence to do this. Bless them it's not their fault they think this way. Of course we know best because we are women. But we love them anyway and just let them believe they are more intelligent. That way they are happy. We are happier though because we know the real reason that they think this and of course.... we already know we're smarter, that's how we can get them to do the things we want them to do by making them think it's their idea to begin with. ......Equilibrium is again delivered :-)

Men have to develop different social skills which cause them to gain the upper hand mentally on some women. Women don't develop these skills due to other natural skills(like sex appeal.) So men need to be witty and intelligent to attract women and women just need to smile, the result is men practice these thought processes more and think they're smarter than women. They're not smarter, just more conditioned. Does that sound sexist?

He has read that due to the differences in physicality that men have slightly heavier brains that women. He did not read on to the next paragraph that clearly states that this leaves room for more thought of beer, football and sex, though not necessarily in that order.

I think that is a very vague question. In asking it, you are assuming that all men think they are smarter than all women. Smart men know that different levels of intelligence have nothing to do with the tools they carry in their pants. Men (and women) who think gender has anything to do with brain power are obviously the ones lacking intelligence.

we let men think there smarter than us so we get our own way which therefore makes us women definately smarter than men!!ha ha
