(economically, politically, religiously, environmentally etc...) what would your purpose in life be? i know many of us (including me) strive to help out anyway we can, but what if there's no one or nothing that needs our help? what would your motivation for living be? some people will have their religious beliefs to fall back on but what would you have? please enlighten me fellow friends. maybe i'm just seeing this from the wrong perspective. :-(
P.S. i know the situation i just describe is highly unlikely but i'll appreciate any answers i get (so long as it pertains to the topic).

I'd still be looking for more knowledge. Even a perfect world would have questions, and it's those questions that give my life meaning.

I am an agnostic. It's not that God does not exist it's just that proving it is improbable. What would we live for? How about hedonistic fun. If no one needs help and the world is perfect then why not just have fun. Maybe its perfect because people are doing the right thing. All people so I would have to do my share. The question assumes a vacuum that would be a lot like paradise.

Actually since religion simply exists because of the need of humans to answer their questions about things we have no answers for(where did we come from), or to elevate fears (what happens when we die), in a perfect world, there would be no need for religion at all.
In a perfect world we would spend our lives appreciating each day, loving those around us, and exploring our natural curiosity. I can't think of a better purpose than no purpose at all.

Perfect is a matter of opinion. The universe is changing constantly, so things would not stand still, and I could still pursue knowledge. The universe in always moving towards more chaos, and not "perfection". (if you drop a glass it will break into 100's of pieces, but will never return to how it was). As we get more complex, a smooth operating single entity of perfection of a society would be the opposite of the path we are on. Perfect for me would be where we would have diversity and change, so it would work for me to have MY perfect. I could type forever about this, but that is the basics of it..

I'm Pagan not atheist, but if I lived in your hypothetical "perfect" world I would strive to keep it that way for my grand kids to live in, I'd expect an atheist to feel the same way.

same as my purpose is in this imperfect world... to live fully and love deeply, to enjoy my relationships and my interests, to continue seeking knowledge and understanding of the world and the people in it
