It depends on who you're asking. St. Iranaeus believed that the incarnation of God as man is what made salvation of humankind possible.

What do I think? Yes, Jesus took on the burden of sin and died so that we may live. Did he "need" to be crucified? I think so. There had to be the moment before his death where God the Father turned his back on him in order to judge the sins of the world--and the fact that Jesus was killed by the sinful who hated him seems...poignant, to say the least.

Jesus could have lived and forgave you, but he gets more sympathy for having been killed by the Romans and Jews. Also that allowed him to rise from the dead, and I'm sure you are impressed by that.
So just accept things, and repent of your sins and go to heaven.

2. Yes he could have he's God..but the main reason he didn't was to show how much he loved us! Who else has DIED for our sins? No one! If you read the Bible you can see the other reasons why he did it too o.k.?

you just don't get it do you he was the final sacrifice Abraham was willing to put his son on the alter to show his love for God so God showed his love for the world by putting his son there he did not die to forgive our sins he was doing that while he walked with man healing them
so he is your no and your yes he is alive now and he is still forgiving sins
