I have a girl who is my best friend. We are both 17 years old. We both have know each other our whole lives and our parents have know each other since they were in high school. I am worried if I tell Jen how I feel about her and she does not feel the same way that it could mess our friendship up. What should I do?

wait a few more years, if you were meant to be for each other, then you'll both feel inclined to wait, but, perhaps, you ought to see how you get on with other people, just to see if ANYTHING else compares...its never good to hook up permanently with the first person you get a crush on. you're so incredibly young and you both have your entire lives ahead of you, i'd say focus on a career first, cause you're going to need a good income if you're thinking in terms of love and relationships. what does she want out of life, find out if you dont already know...i would really wait if i was you. if a girl likes you, she'll definitely let you know as well, she'll give you *some* form of encouragement. i wouldnt risk a great friendship for an ill-timed proposal... alternatively, if you feel you ABSOLUTELY need to put your mind at rest, be it a good or bad response, then at least you can move on from there...if she doesnt like you in the same way, you must realize its going to change things for both of you forever.

The only way it may affect your friendship is that if she say no she doesn't feel the same way, you begin to act different. If after being rejected your attitude stays consistent to what she is use too...I am pretty sure both of your guys she be able to get over it.

Ur kinda going though the same stuff I am.Its really hard being in this kind of situation.So i think u should tell her ur feeling b/c u never know what she is going to think or say. And maybe she is waiting on u too make to first move.

you know, when you 2 are the best friends of each other so it means that she feel the same way too
but if everything goes right you haven't any reason to tell her now, maybe later...
