You wouldn't "have" to in order to get the idea across but if you wanted to be accurate then a nice mid-eastern tan would be in order.

He certainly didn't look anything at all like the Roman Catholic paintings with long wavy lightish brown hair and blue eyes.

Nobody truly knows what color Jesus Christ of Nazareth was and don't let anybody tell you different. The views we see of Jesus reflect our societies worldview. Given the fact of where he was born, it is likely that he was a dark complected man. Perhaps, people see him as white because of the awesome white majestic aura that surrounded him. Perhaps he really was white and had blue eyes; however, I think that he would have been out of place and probably more outcasted than the Bible mentions he was at that time. Those traits would have been uncommon for the area he was born.

Earth Jesus or Resurrected Jesus?

Earth Jesus . . . dark skin

Resurrected Jesus . . . need to think of a way to radiate light which makes one appear whiter.

Of course, I don't think He would make a good Halloween character since you would need to model His behavior. Somehow that seems at odd with Halloween.

Jesus wouldn't have had really light skin, but He wouldn't have celebrated Halloween, either. And anyway, isn't that a bit blasphemous?

It depends on what type of neighborhood you will visit. If you visit some Christian homes you might be met with derision instead of a bag of candy.

I would look upon such a masquerade as sacrilege.

Yes you should. Jesus was from the middle east. If he was white, there was something seriously wrong with him.
