There is a Bible verse that says man does not know the highest mountains or the deepest depths of the ocean.

I don't think he cares.
Like the saying go's "god didn't learn anything today"
The answer for humanity is found in Jesus Christ, its not found in surveying a frozen gas bed on Venus. Or hiding in orbit around Pluto.
Once we have found the answer (Jesus Christ) then there's no point in looking behind Mars to find out whats there.
The earth, sun ,moon and all the stars are just props in this stage called the universe.

Fascinating, Jim. But in the Bible, God says they (men) would seek to build their nests among the stars, but he would bring them down. I would conclude that space exploration of men would be short lived.

Besides - the way things are going with rogue nations obtaining and seeking to obtain nuclear weapons, one could conclude that technology would be set back to approximate the stone age once a mutual exchange of mass destruction begins.

So the reinvention (rediscovery) of the wheel and lightbulb could quite possibly be the biggest discovery for the next millennium.

There is another one, where God tells Abraham to "count the stars, if you are able to count them all".

If we're gonna be obedient, we may have to move around a little (from the Earth) in order to see them all. Can't count what you can't see!

I bet He wants us to go for it. Sounds fun. When do we leave?

Personally, I don't think that we will be allowed to attain inter-planetary space exploration technology until we learn to live in peace and harmony here on earth. And it looks to me like that simply is not going to happen until Jesus and the angels (extraterrestrials) return to earth to defeat the forces of evil, and establish their kingdom of love, peace, and harmony.

For one he'd prefer the spaces we explore be only those of our husband or wife....

External to ourselves, do you truly think we as His creation will ever see everything without His help or His permission.... extremely vain to think that....

He challenges us (or at least Abraham) to count the stars. I'd guess He's okay with it.
