Very normal. All children develop at different times.

Please do not let this worry you!!! I have two boys, the first one walked before he crawled and that was at 14 months. I was quite proud, but everyone hasseled me saying that it is so important to crawl, one even went as far to say that he will have trouble reading when he was older. I then found out that I as a baby did the same (walked first) and trust me I have not experienced any trouble in the reading dept, my husband goes mad at me for reading too much. My other boy crawled around 10 months. Kids do things when they are good and ready and not a day before.

I think this is probably fine, but be warned she is about to get mobile quickly. My niece couldn't crawl at 9 months, within a week she was speeding along doing a sort of caterpillar thing on her bottom pulling herself with her feet, a week later she was pulling herself up on the side of the sofa. Her poor mum was very nostalgic for the days when she was worrying that she wasn't crawling...

My little boy didn't crawl until about 10 months. He crawled for about a week, got bored with that and started to pull himself and try to walk. He was walking before he was one. I was worried like you though. All kids develop at different rates. Please don't compare to other babies too much. It makes you stressed and puts pressure on the baby which could backfire in some instances.

Normal....

Crawling
Crawling is your baby's first method of getting around efficiently on his own. In the traditional crawl, he'll start by learning to balance on his hands and knees. Then he'll figure out how to move forward and backward by pushing off with his knees. At the same time, he'll be strengthening the muscles that will soon enable him to walk.

When it develops
Most babies learn to crawl between the ages of 6 and 10 months. Your baby may opt for another method of locomotion around this time, though — like bottom shuffling (scooting around on his bottom, using a hand behind and a foot in front to propel himself), slithering on his stomach, or rolling across the room. Some babies skip crawling altogether and move directly to pulling up, standing, and walking. Since the "Back to Sleep" campaign was initiated in 1994, more babies seem to be crawling later or skipping it completely. (The campaign aims to reduce the risk of SIDS by encouraging parents to put babies to sleep on their back.) Don't worry about his style; it's getting mobile that's important, no matter how your baby does it.

How it develops
Your baby will likely start crawling soon after he's able to sit well without support (probably by the time he's 6 or 7 months old). After this point, he can hold his head up to look around, and his arm, leg, and back muscles are strong enough to keep him from falling on the floor when he gets up on his hands and knees.

Your baby will gradually (over a couple of months) learn to move confidently from a sitting position to being on all fours, and he'll soon realize he can rock back and forth when his limbs are straight and his trunk is parallel to the floor.

Somewhere around 9 or 10 months, he'll figure out that pushing off with his knees gives him just the boost he needs to go mobile. As he gains proficiency, he'll learn to go from a crawling position back into a sitting position. He'll also master the advanced technique that pediatrician William Sears calls "cross-crawling" — moving one arm and the opposite leg together when he moves forward, rather than using an arm and a leg from the same side. After that, practice makes perfect. Look for him to be a really competent crawler by the time he's a year old.

My son never actually crawled. He pulled himself around on his stomach, kind of like army guys when sneaking low on the ground. We called it his army crawl. His doctor said this is perfectly normal. Some kids never crawl, they just start cruising one day.
Personally, I think girls usually work on talking first and babies usually work on one milestone at a time. So if she's babbling alot or trying to talk, consider that that will be her priority before walking.

Yes all children do things at their own rate. Some don't crawl until a year. To encourage your child to crawl put their favourite toy an little way away from them. Making them work to move forward.

All babies develop at a different rate, my daughter crawled at 6 months walked at 12 months and my friends son was walking at 9 months. Don't worry but you can help and encourage your baby.

yep. My son commando crawled more than normal crawling on his 1st birthday. He is now an intelligent upwardly mobile 7 year old. So don't stress, she will get there. Then she will be running and you will wish she was 9 months old again

It depends. Was your baby a preemie. If so you need to take her corrected age (due date) into account. My son was almost 3 months early and didn't start crawling until 10 months.
